This place is a JOKE! SERIOUSLY!!! I would have given it 3 or 4 stars, if it had not been for the experience I encountered when I ate there last week. My name is Michael Olupona, and I am an African American. I know you all are probably wondering what my RACE has to do with any of this but it has EVERYTHING to do with this review, I believe.



So I went to eat with my friend at this Sushi Siam last week, since my friend eats here all the time and raves about how wonderful the food is. Well, I must agree the food wasn't bad, as a matter of fact, it was pretty good; however that all went downhill from there.



It was around 10:30pm on a Saturday night while my friend and I arrived at this place. We ordered a couple of rolls along with some thai dishes and the service from the waiters had been great so far; however towards the end of our meal, which was probably around 11:30pm and there were still people eating outside. We kindly asked the waitstaff if we could finish our wines outside and our waitress kindly agreed to accommodate us; HOWEVER after just 2-3 minutes of settling down to finish our wine, this MALE MANAGER comes outside and tells my friend and I that we could not drink outside here and that they are closing when it was only 11:45pm and they close at midnight and to top all that off, there were still people eating outside. I was absolutely shocked and confused at this ridiculous encounter that I thought I was being punk'ed on some reality TV show but NO, this guy was serious! It was so ridiculous, I just felt like leaving after that and politely asked for his name. He told me "you don't need to know it" and walked right back inside.



As I left, I had observed the few people still eating outside and none of them were BLACK, there was no other clear explanation for this other than the fact that this manager was extremely RACIST. I have never been so embarassed in my entire life. I was so upset, I asked the waitstaff what his name was and what was his deal and I found out that his name is "Ji" and he is a new manager at this location.



What kind of nice restaurant hires some ridiculous JOKE to manage their place?!?! If any other fellow yelpers are reading this, I would strongly not recommend this place, not because of the food but because of unequal treatment in service this place provides. In this day and age, a place like this should be shut down or at least, should hire more professional management!
