The Association for Retarded Citizens, South Florida is one of the largest, community volunteer organizations in the United States. Founded in 1953, it is a nonprofit corporation that serves more than 60,000 individuals with developmental disabilities in Miami-Dade County in Florida. The organization administers several advocacy, educational and research programs. The Association for Retarded Citizens, South Florida offers case management and crisis intervention services. It also provides a range of supported living options. The organization offers advocacy and guardianship services. The Association for Retarded Citizens, South Florida s Robert T. Knight Centers administers day training programs. It is a chapter of The Arc.
