Waffle House

Maleya was our server. The table was sticky and food was on the benches. I asked for hot water. She said she had to make it. I was confused. She brought my husband's coffee to the table and then spilled it on the table with no apology and no cleanup. I finally got the manager to get me a mug of hot water. And I let Malaya know that if she needed to get hot water in the future it's in where the coffee pot is. She brought me a water glass full of boiling water. She never came back around to get my husband to any refills. She never came around to see how our food was. The restaurant was not very busy so it was not a matter of her being overwhelmed with a lot of customers. She was more interested in hanging out and chatting with her off the clock coworkers. Anthony was the cook and he would be the reason we come back. I have had OK experiences at waffle house with OK food. The food was good. We watched him work his tail off. He was serving and bringing food to tables when he should not have to. Anthony went out of his way to let us know if there is anything we needed, he inquired about our food and asked us if we enjoyed it if it was good and he talk to us before leaving. He did this for all of the tables. My husband had to finally go get the bill and our takeout containers and our take-out waffles. We were super unimpressed with our service with the exception of Anthony and the food.
