Always a great time, prices are reasonable, great song selection. The weekends are crowded and the wait is long, so I prefer weeknights or getting there early. I don't do beer, but they have a decent selection. The Blue Sake has always been their signature drink and it does the job, this is my personal favorite. The DJ works hard to keep the rotation moving, but can be overwhelmed during the busy weekends, another reason I prefer weeknights when possible. Can't wait to go back with my friends.

I go to this place quite often. It is smaller than other places but lots of fun. Some good talent there. The bartenders, door guy and DJ have always been great. Sometimes the wait to sing is long as they get so busy. Love going to this place.

14 years doing nothing but karaoke in Louisville, they must be doing something right. I had a blast, it was HOT, Crowded, Loud, wait was long. It was Fun, Lots of girls, Lots of talent, great to sit back and just watch, reasonably priced beer, NO COVER. It will be a regular stop when I make my rounds on Bardstown Road. They don't open till 9:30 pm plan accordingly.

Was there for a birthday party, it was our last stop. We arrived around 1am on a Thursday night. It was great we each got to sing 3 songs and practically owned the place. The next time I hope we can get there a little earlier.

Had a blast, can't wait to go back. I would highly recommend you visit here if you like karaoke.

Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. My friends and I had the WORST experience here. The bartender was unbelievably rude . After refusing to give my friend free water, he confiscated the water she brought in from outside without giving her a chance to drink it or throw it out. So, he stole it from her essentially. We figured we paid for our drinks (you have to buy a drink to get a karaoke ticket, which is also lame), so we may as well stay and sing. I put in my first and second ticket within minutes of each other. I sang my first song within about 5 songs (it was not terribly busy at this point). I waited for about 2 hours after singing my first song and still was not called to sing my second. When I politely asked the DJ how long until I was up again he said 10-12 songs! No thanks. I then left. Unbelievable. I Will never return again and I will tell everyone I know not to go here. Trust me, go anywhere but here for your karaoke needs. This establishment and its employees are worthless.

First time at Akiko's, and things seemed to be going okay. Then this girl and her friends came in, took the tables me and my friends were using. When we sat down at a different table she came over and said we had to move because her friends were going to be sitting there. I said we'd move when they got there. Then she went to the DJ and said we stole their table and that we were drinking their beer, even though they took our tables, where our beer was - which we honestly picked up off the table. The doorman came up and said we'd have to leave. I said, okay, but may I ask why. And he said it was because we stole someone's beer. It was ridiculous. I told him we didn' t do anything wrong, that there was no reason for this to happen. He threatened to call the police on me if I didn't leave - and I was in no way being beligerent. I tried to reason with him in the bar area, but he wouldn't be moved. I told him how unfair it was to throw us out without hearing our side of the story. I closed my tab, very upset that I was being treated so badly for no reason, and vowed never to return. It's a dump.



This is NOT a good local business. The door man is openly hostile to new comers, on a power trip. I was allowed through the door, and still treated badly. It's not this sort of club one expects to find rabid elitists and patrons who behave like entitled celebutantes. Everyone in this place was hostile to me and my friends. Other people I know have had very similar experiences. This place was just awful.

The "bouncer", if you want to call him that, thinks he's gaurding Ft. Knox by the way he acts. He's a hardass with no personality. The DJ, new and old, only let you sing if you tip them $20, otherwise you'll sit there all night with him telling you only 4 more songs ahead of you. And the song selection is better at other places. Don't waste your time. Go to the Tap Room on Fridays or Bearnos on Saturday to get your fix. The bartender is cool though.
