I found this place on another website that offers reviews. After seeing the high rating we decide to book it for a quick honeymoon (that we could afford). Our experience was good. The room was clean, staff was friendly and we loved that we could walk to the MGM casino. It cost less than the Holiday Inn Express I looked into that was off-strip. We will definitely be staying here again - especially if prices keep going down in Vegas.

Great place to stay, If you like COCKROACHES

My husband and I stayed at the Desert Rose in May of 2008. While the hotel appears to be clean, don't be deceived. We stayed at the hotel for three days. My husband left his luggage on the floor, I put mine up high on the luggage holder in the closet. When we got home to Utah I started to unpack our suitcases and found a COCKROACH in my husband's bag.

I informed the hotel of the problem, the front desk people were disgusted and sympathetic when I told them what had happened but upper management seemed to be indifferent. I had to leave three messages before a manager called me back and when one did call me back he made the remark "the insect could have got into your bags anywhere" I let him know it was not an "insect" it was a cockroach and no, it couldn't have got in the suitcase anywhere. One, we don't have cockroaches in our home, Two we rented a car went straight to the hotel and straight home, and Three the suitcase was left on the floor.

In short the resort has not reacted responsibly from beginning to end. STAY CLEAR unless you are an "insect" collector.

This resort has been recently remolded and is fantastic! The staff was attentive and friendly, the rooms were spacious, and the location was just right. The full kitchen and separate living room made for a very relaxed weekend. I would definitely recommend.

Faded Glory

This resort has friendly staff, but the facility is worn and falling apart. Torn screens, pulled hallway carpet, broken lighting fixtures, unreliable door lock equipment, torn wallpaper, moldy grout in bathrooms are just a quick collection of what awaits the unsuspecting traveler. The television screen has a great picture for watching the football games, but don't expect to even see the scores reported along the bottom of the screen. The happy hour features Miller Light on draft, some fair wines and cheap trail mix.Renovations are underway on one of the Hawthorn buildings in this Shell Time Share complex. Hopefully, they'll do something with the other Hawthorn building next.Kudos to the staff for trying really hard to make silk from a sow's ear.
