There is NO way that the positive GOOGLE reviews were not written by the shop. IF you want to be scammed and conned, then this is your place to go. This place is not BBB Accredited, and they have a "D+" rating on BBB.

They wanted 2x what everyone else wanted for an alternator repair, and when I asked them about it at the front desk, they brought me back away from the other customers I guess so they would not be influenced by what I was saying.

On another car, they charged me almost $200 to "fix" a trans hose fitting that fell off. They didn't use fittings, they used (4) 10 cent hose clamps and added a couple quarts of fluid. I guess using actual fittings was beyond their level of "expertise".

Well, that repair, which was supposed to be warrantied, flew apart on the highway. Trans fluid all over the engine and the outside of the car. They did tow it back to the shop at their expense, but then the scamming started again in earnest. They "claimed" that there must be too much pressure in the hoses, and that is why their hose clamp repair failed. I was charged almost $200 more for "better" hoses, and almost $500 in labor...to take off the front end. (For reference, I had that front end taken off, AND painted for $300 at another shop) I was also charged $40 for "shop supplies". I guess that means "rags".

Since their initial repair failed, I insisted that they detail the car and get the trans fluid off. Their idea of a "detail" is someone wiping the car down with a rag. Needless to say, trans fluid is still everywhere.

They took no precaution getting in and out of my car also...there were some really heavy duty scuff/dirt/scratch marks on the door threshold trim.

Con artists AND clueless AND reckless. Not a good combination.

disappointed by the lack of manners; too busy for me

From the moment I walked in Fine Tune Auto, I was in disbelief. I went there because of the reviews and their expertise but experienced something totally different. The associate behind the counter was eating when walked in. He took another bite and clicked on his computer for a few more moments, before he even looked up and acknowledged I was there. I thought the whole circumstance was rude. While standing there waiting to be helped, I had enough time to view the prices on the wall. Fine Tune Auto is suppose to care for my car and they can not even care about me or give me common courtesy. After starting my service off like this....and seeing their outrageous pricing, I knew I was in the wrong place!!!! So when the gentleman asked if he could help me I simply stated thank you but he could not and walked out the door. I will never let them do work on my car!! Incompetent!!!!

Couldn't believe the dedication

Back in August of 2012 when the BP bad gas went to stations I was an unfortunate victim. My first thought was to go to the dealership to get it fixed, and away I went. At the dealership I was treated as a number and handed my car back in worse condition than when I got it. I have a low production run car with a touchy, hard to work on, small all aluminum v8. After I got it back in worse condition, the very next day I brought it back to the dealership and told them they made it worse. The dealership charged the insurance company related to BP for more garbage work. Handed me my car back 2 weeks later and said it was a "computer". So here I am after a total of 6 weeks with the dealership, my car is in the worst shape it had ever been. I decided to get my "computer" fixed trusting the dealers word, but certainly not at the garbage ford dealer in highland again. I accidentally stumbled upon Fine Tune Auto driving in a Lansing subdivision. I pulled in and decided to get a quote. I explained to them my situation and they told me they would give me a proper diagnosis. In the mean time they offered me a free loaner car for my family and I to drive, but it gets better. After putting a tremendous amount of time in to diagnose my vehicle, I heard what i figured all along. It was not a computer problem. Go figure, anyway they said I can use the loaner for as long as it would take them to get to the bottom of my problems. As it turns out it appeared fuel related and after hearing my dealership story said they would handle the insurance company for me. Despite it taking a long time of dealing with the IC, Fine Tune Auto managed to replace my entire fuel system, as there were faults from the pump all the way down to the injectors, of which 5 were obstructed. They got the approval (no easy task) and fixed my car, properly. Finding parts alone is a tremendous ordeal as my car was limited production. But they got my car back to me in the best running condition it has ever been, also since the insurance company had my car through the expiration of my emissions they even handled that for me before they gave it back. I could not believe the work and diligence they put into my case and they made me a believer. I personally would send my grandmother to them ( i probably will sometime soon) and i recommend that if you have a hard to fix issue, give these guys a chance I guarantee they will go above and beyond.

I called this repair shop about 2 months ago to ask about repairing a tune up issue where I could only install 5 spark plugs. I had already been told I needed an engine. I took my truck in and had them review it. They told me they could repair my truck without putting an engine in. Needless to say when they were done, my truck was worst than before. They don't follow up and they are way too expensive. I feel like I got jipped at this place. I'm thinking about taking them to small claims court. Now my vehicle is inoperative and I'm out of $1350. The only reason it's one star because it's required.

It doesn't matter what kind of car you bring them, they know how to fix it. Each time I bring them a project they quickly diagnose it, give you an estimate, and promptly do the work correctly. Good warranties and can make your used car last. You need to understand that when they give you a quote it covers all aspects of what their fixing. They will do what you want, but if you take the car there for a flat tire, they'll suggest two matching tires and an alignment to avoid added wear. You just want the tire, they'll do it, but their quotes reflect all the added amenities. If you can afford what they suggest, you're golden and on your way for good. You cut corners, it's your fault, not theirs. Great people, great business.

Done right by knowledgeable techs

Thank goodness I found this shop! Had taken my car to two other shops because my car kept dieing out. Spent tons of money at those shops on repairs that still did not fix the problem and was finally told after all of my time and attempted repairs that it would be best to just replace the engine! Decided to give Fine Tune a try as they were recommended by a friend. They looked at my car, told me that it didn't need an engine or any of the other new parts that were thrown at the repair. Just needed an inexpensive part and minor adjustment. Runs better now than ever. Thank you Fine Tune! You have a customer for life.

One of the most honest, trustworthy repair shops I've ever encountered. And very cost efficient.
