Shear Genius Salon

Leila is an expert stylist! She has been cutting, coloring, highlighting, keratining and styling my hair for two years now. We have taken my hair from bleach blonde to dark mohagony, to red, and my favorite color now which is red with caramel highlights. My natural curly hair looks like Erykah Badu, and I had Coppola KeratinComplex treatments before at another salon, but they never worked as good as Leila's GK line!! My hair is now sleek, managable, and I wouldn't trust my locks with anybody else. I also LOVE going through all of the newest Mary Kay products after I get my hair done, because Leila keeps a large inventory of all the newest products!

This was a wonderful experience. Everyone was very nice to me and made me feel like i belonged there. Brittany did my hair and did a great job. I got all over highlights and it made my hair nice and blonde for summer. I love this place and Brittany. She was very professional and caring for me. She checked in on me while i was at the dryer she cared about what I thought and even made sure I was in love with the style before I left. I will be going back there to get all my styling needs especially from Brittany.

Love this place! Cassie is great. I always walk out with what I want, and they have excellent service! Moved here from out-of-state and I am so glad I found this salon!!

I LOVE this salon! I have had my hair done there for the last year and they ROCK! I have done everything from color, cut, keratin ect. I recently went from almost black to blonde and my hair isn't even fried (which is extremely hard to do). It is a relaxed atmosphere where you are treated like a real person and not like a paycheck. I will never go anywhere else!

I had recently moved into the apartments behind the salon and decided to try them out just based on convenince. I was more than pleasantly surprised! Very relaxed atmosphere with young happy, talkative girls. They even offered wine, coffee, and hot tea. I got my eyebrows waxed and haircut and the stylist took her time and did an amazing job worth attention to my usually unruly thick hair. I'll be going back in the very near future to get my color done. I highly recommend them.

Ive been going to Shear Genius for about a year now, and im really surprised at some of the comments on here. I get my hair colored and cut, and have always had such a great experience. The Stylist are always so friendly and they will make you feel right at home. I have never seen the salon unclean, i have gotten to know these girls and they are so sweet and i know that when they arent with a client they are usually cleaning something. I hate to see people give them such a terrible review when i know that they do the best they can at everything they do. I highly recommend this salon to anyone!

stopped in 1 afternoon and was appalled at how really I was treated. they were too young girls in the shop what appeared to be on her cell phone talking very loudly and laughing. The other informed me she did not feel like cutting my hair. Unbelievable! I left shocked and irratated. The more I read and hear about this place I'm glad I didnt get my hair done here. The employees were rude and the shop looked unclean. I would suggest going some where else before taking your chances here.

I accidentally ran across Shear Genius in the spring of this year (2012), as I was looking for a salon close to where I live. I have been in there 5-6 times for cuts and color and so far, failed to ever be disappointed. They are very professional, genuinely friendly, and most of all undoubtedly extremely accommodating. I was in a jam due to a death in the family and they were willing to stay late to help me out at last minutes notice.



I really just wanted to make a quick positive comment on this salon while it was on my mind, as I was in there recently. I was a little appalled by the "Anonymous" comment posted. The entire post sounds a little bogus and childish to me, not to mention your poor grammar and misspelled words. Sounds like it was written by an 8-year old instead of 48-year old. It almost sounds like you have a personal vendetta against the owner, who posted a very polite response to try to make ammends to your bad experience. If you were that unhappy, why not just post "Would not recommend" and MOVE ON? No specific details were necessary. No one is ever going to like every stylist they try .... it's called reality.



The staff at Shear Genius does not know me from the man in the moon, other than I am now a familiar face. Your post was very transparent and I hate seeing nice people treated that way. It is just amazing to me that as large as Knoxville is, you simply walked into another salon and find the hairdresser you love. Unbelievable! I have never had that kind of luck.



Providing a service at a reasonable price makes for a good salon. In addition, bending over backwards to accommodate clientele makes for a great salon! I would highly recommend Shear Genius!

I moved to knoxville about 4 months ago and i have been trying to find a stylist. I walked into Shear Genius and Got right in. The Stylist are very friendly and super sweet! Cassy cut and colored my hair and its been so long since i have left a salon and actually satisfied with my hair! I absolutely recommend this shop!

This place is terrible. Don't get go there. They totally messed up my hair. Didn't come close to what I asked for.

Lindsay from Shear Genius is absolutely AMAZING! I have been to so many different salons and nobody seems to know exactly what to do with my curse,, curly hair, but she knew, and did exactly what i wanted ( which has never happened) plus she does feather extensions right now for such a good price(compared to other salons) I had to get a couple! I love her, I love how amazing she is with hair, and i will be a client for life .

Being new the Knoxville I didn't know where to go for a good hair cut... After getting butchered by a few other salons I found Shear Genius... I've found my new favorite stylist... Besides the great cut the staff are also very nice on the eyes.. But seriously I'd recommend them to anyone..

Shear Genius is a beautiful salon. It's spacious and modern. Conveniently located on Middlebrook Pike--the salon is easy to get to from anywhere. Enough about the salon though--I love my hair color because my stylist, Leila, is fantastic! My color has shine and my hair looks vibrant and healthy. Leila is really talented. I highly recommend her work.

I got my haircut last week by Lindsey and not only was it the best cut the staff was super friendly! The salon is beautiful and new this place is a must!

I stopped by the salon to see if they had an appointment open for Saturday, but I didn't have to wait. I was able to get highlights in my hair and a hair cut that day. Thank you Priscilla for being so patient and kind to me. I will be back for sure!

Wow! What a treat! Shear Genius is quickly gaining quite a reputation as the salon with the most knowledgeable and professional staff in West Knoxville. Their not bad on the eyes either. If you want to feel like someone really cares about your hair, not just being number 3 in the region, Shear Genius is the place to go. Way to go ladies!
