Salute! On The Beach

The service, ambiance, and location are all absolutely perfect! We keep coming back, and everyone who works here is unfailingly friendly and attentive. We sat here for two hours just drinking soda and enjoying the sunshine, and our amazing waitress, Lucy kept refilling our drinks and telling us not to rush. She never, ever got impatient with us or was anything less than wonderful. When we came for dinner, our beautiful waitress Sam, was chatty and hilarious. She's a super-nice local who pointed out some great places for us to go drinking.
Unfortunately, I didn't think the food was one of the strong points here, mainly because I don't like seafood, which they have a lot of. This limits the menu for me. The complimentary bread had poppy seeds in it, which was interesting, but it overall it tasted pretty average. For dinner, Daniel got the meat lasagna, which he said was "fantastic." I got the carbonala, (spaghetti with Alfredo sauce, peas, and bacon bits). I wasn't impressed with the Alfredo sauce. For dessert we tried their Key Lime Pie, which was topped with a great poof of meringue. It was a little less tart than other pies I've had on the island (e.g., Blonde Giraffe's), which I really liked. While I wasn't too impressed with my dinner, I loved everything else.
The ambiance and location are awesome. It's right next to Higg's Beach, so you can easily stop by for lunch or on your way home from the beach. The outdoor seating is right next to the sand, and is non-smoking! I think there's a separate outdoor patio for smokers. The music is low key, usually acoustic versions of popular songs. Best of all, the place has bike racks and an actual parking lot, yay!
Other reviewers have pointed out that this is a great place to watch the sunset. I just want to point out that this place is on the south side of the island. So while you can admire the lovely streaks of color across the sky, set off by beautiful palm trees and ocean, you will not actually see the sun setting. Still, I definitely think everyone should check this place out at least once during their trip.
