Dental Examination

I was born and raised in the Northland area. I’ve been a member of the dental field in Kansas City, MO. for 29 years. While working under the mentorship of Dr. Kirby Kavanaugh for over 11 years, I have been able to become the first dental assistant in the state of Missouri to be certified as a CadCam Dental Designer in 2009. I take personal pride in my design knowledge and enjoy working with patients and being able to create art through CadCam technology while making smiles. CadCam is the dental design software and milling system that allows us to create Crowns and Bridges in office to be delivered to the patient in one appointment. In high school I took a jewelry class and ended up being one of very few jewelry artists that had their work displayed at Kansas City Art Institute for over 3 months. Unfortunately, the jewelry class was taken away and replaced with a Computer Art class. My teacher, at the time pushed me to join in. (Thank you Mr. Kennedy!) Computers were a new deal back then and I was hesitant, but with his persistence, I climbed on board and took the class. I ended up making some of the first ever printed flyers for the Oak Park High School sports events. With the technology I have learned while making crowns and bridges, I have come full circle and brought both skills completely together. Through jewelry making I learned to pay strict attention to detail and through computer art I can run the Cerec system to the best of its ability. I could not have ever asked for a more fulfilling profession! I love to listen to live local music, and be around friends and family. The entire team at Zona Rosa Dental is an extension of my family and I am proud to be a member!
