Worst urgent care ever. My son...

Worst urgent care ever. My son was having labored breathing, a high fever, and was lethargic, but he was left in the waiting room for hours. The staff continued to call back patients that weren't showing any signs of injury or illness, most of which who were laughing and seemed completely healthy, while my 11 month old son continued to suffer and wait in the waiting room.

When I mentioned that my son's breathing was getting worse and he was getting warmer, the nurse had my son's temperature taken with a forehead thermometer (which aren't recommended for children under age two because they are inaccurate) and said "oh, he's fine." She then proceeded to call back a family that had brought all six children in for check-ups. The family had arrived at the same time as my son & I, but the difference was that these kids were all obviously healthy and without injuries - the six kids had been running, laughing, and playing in the waiting room. My 11 month old son was laboring to breathe, but they chose to bring back the family of six healthy kids first.

When I complained that they didn't appear to be considering the severity of injury or illness when calling back patients-and that my son needed to be seen so he could go home, as he was obviously extremely sick. I expressed my concern that they were choosing to call back patients who were not in pain or suffering from illness, while making obviously sick patients wait until last. In response, instead of an apology and an effort to help my son, the nurse called me "rude" and told me I could go elsewhere.

I then took my son to St. John's E.R. where we were seen, x-rayed, and checked out within an hour and a half. Oh, and the nurse who used a thermometer not recommended on infants and who said my son was "fine" was wrong-my son had pneumonia, a serious ear infection, a temperature of 104 degrees (she'd said it was 98.5), and was extremely dehydrated.

So if you are sick, and would like to be seen before bouncy, healthy people, then I do not recommend this sorry excuse for an urgent care.

These people are liars and thieves. I went here when I was sick, and while the service was adequate, if rather cold, they did help me.

The problem came when it was time to pay. I wanted to pay the entire bill immediately and told them so. They replied that it would be about $110, which seemed low. I asked if that was the full price and explained that I had other bills to pay and wouldn't have this money if there were other charges later. They again said that it was the final price. I then asked for an itemized receipt so I could see the exact charges and be sure there wouldn't be any lab fees later or anything. They then told me that the computer doesn't allow itemized receipts and that this was absolutely the full bill but I'd have to take their word for it. At this point I was wishing I could have gone elsewhere, but it was too late so I paid.

A month later I got a bill for $170 with no explanation of what it was for save that it was regarding that visit. Calls to their office got me apologized to but told I had no choice but to pay for this mystery bill. Further calls and transfers finally got me someone who supposedly could put a hold on my account and send me an itemized bill. Despite calling her back twice, the hold was never applied and the itemized bill never arrived. I managed to get the money together before it went to collections, but I still don't know what, exactly, they charged me extra for.
