Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu United is the place to train! The Instruction here is World Class! Jared Weiner is the owner and head instructor. He is in the Academy even if he is not teaching that particular class. He makes sure everyone feels at home. Most people get a nick name by the end of their first night in class. It really is like a family here. A great time. Training is an awesome work out. The classes are structured with everyone working hard, but fun at the same time. I knew nothing when I first started and now I am a Blue belt after a year and some months. The instructors make sure you are getting the techniques taught in class. The instruction is clear with small details that make it easy to execute each thing you learn. They adjust and adapt things if you can't seem to get it. Everyone is super friendly and Its like my second home. A great place to go especially when I am stressed out. I leave feeling 100% better every time. Check it out, you wont regret it!

I do not have any real martial arts training, but I have taken the Womens only Kettlebell class and the Self Defense for Women workshop here. The instructors are extremely skilled and extensively trained professionals. The open and friendly atmosphere does not make me feel intimidated. I had not done Kettlebells before taking the class here and the instructor, Sharon, made sure I was able to follow along and was able to give me individual attention when I needed it. The class is only 30 minutes long, but intense and physically rewarding. They offer several Womens only Kettlebell classes during the week which fit well into my schedule.

If you live anywhere near Philadelphia, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu United is the place to train at! Jared is an amazing instructor. And I really do mean amazing! He breaks all the techniques down to make it very easy to understand. And if you do not understand, then no problem. You raise your hand and let him know and he'll go over it again until you get it. All egos are left at the door which is great! Everybody gets along literally like a family! The live sparring is awesome because everybody takes it seriously. There's always top black belts on the mat training along with plenty of brown and purple belts! I love training at BJJ United and there's no way I would ever go anywhere else to train!
