Oh Max, why couldn't you just let me workout without having to resort to engaging with the dreg of society that is you? And now, you get the privilege of getting lambasted into oblivion for all of eternity. I love writing when I'm in a contemptuous mood though. It serves me.



I was initially going to do an exercise over by where the racquetball court connects with the aerobics studio--in the little corner where people stretch...out of the way. But, somebody was in this area so I decided to come back to it. I then went looking for one of the two movable benches to do a different exercise and saw one underneath one of the smith machines. Didn't see anyone using it but then a guy (Max) came over and I asked him if he was using the bench. He said yes.



Cool. No problem. He asked if I wanted to work in and I said that I wasn't benching, and that I needed the bench to do a different exercise. He seemed annoyed. I told him I'd wait and that it wasn't a big deal. To make a long story short, I saw the guy that was in the space over by the aerobics area come into the free weight room so I decided to go back to do the exercise I wanted to do in that area.



I grabbed an Olympic bar and proceeded over. I had company. It was Max. Max said that I can't do that exercise there because it messes up the wall. The exercise--so this passage makes sense to the readers--is called a Land Mine Press. You lay the Olympic bar on the ground and put one end of the bar up against the wall to create a pivot point. You then stand at the other end and press the weight from shoulder height up above your head.
