Southern Natural Gas, a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, transports more than 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day during peak periods through 8,000 miles of pipeline within the Southeast region of the United States. The company also owns and operates the Elba Island liquefied natural gas regasification facility in the state of Georgia, with approximately 4 billion cubic feet of storage capacity and over 440 million cubic feet per day of send-out capacity. Its parent company, El Paso Corporation own one of North America s largest interstate natural gas pipeline systems, approximately 42,000 miles long, that transports more than a quarter of the natural gas consumed in the United States each day. The parent company provides natural gas and related energy products. El Paso Corporation is organized around two core businesses that include pipelines and exploration and production. The parent company sells power-to-power transmission and distribution companies owned by local governments. Some of its pipeline assets are owned by El Paso Pipeline Partners. The parent company offers natural gas transmission services to a range of customers, including natural gas producers, marketers and end-users, as well as other natural gas transmission, distribution and electric generation companies. El Paso Corporation s Exploration & Production Company finds, develops and produces natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids.
