Always 99 Cents Store

I stepped in just to buy a soda b/c it was in the same shopping center as another store. I thought it was just another dollar store, opened my soda and browsed around b/c I had not been there before; nothing is 99cents. The prices are random and I saw things up to 2.99. Most products were in boxes with the tops ripped off. There was so much clutter everywhere; I'd be surprised if they could pass a fire inspection. There was an odor of sewage in one corner of the store. Before the odor, I noticed insect carcasses inside of several packages of toys. I paid for my soda, left, then threw it away b/c I'm a microbiologist and the thought of finishing it frightened me.
