Some people enjoy sleeping next to a very loud road and a train site others like me rather enjoy a peaceful stay. The owners are very rude and God forbid your children kick up a little sand. The lady owner went up toy daughter ( not me and she just turned six by the way) and yelled at her telling her to stay out of the sandbox for the rest of our stay. Me as a mother went back to find out what happened. Before I could say anything the lady got very close to my face and told me to listen up. I quietly listened and before I could have a rebuttal she risky told me to be quiet she was talking. Of course we could not leave due to we would not be given our refund back so we were forced to stay there. This place is awful and please be careful what your kids are doing at all times.... Or the owners will get to them before you do. Stay away!!

We stayed here in August of 20...

We stayed here in August of 2012 for Labor Day Weekend. We were kind of wary because after we made reservations, we noticed there were a lot of bad reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised when we got there.

First of all, it IS located between US 31 and railroad tracks--however if that's an issue to you, pay attention to the directions before you make reservations--it very clearly states both of those facts. That being said, as we live near a highway and railroad tracks, we slept fine--I'm not even sure we heard a train at all while we were there.

Second, the owners are very sweet and kind--they let you know all of their rules and policies up front when you get there, and even on the phone if you ask questions--so there really should be no misunderstandings on policies of tents/people per site or speeding or improper behavior. They very much are desiring to provide a family-friendly campsite which it is! there is plenty of things for young kids to do, and there are plenty of older people too--if you like to party, want them to entertain you, or are looking to be disrespectful of other people's space and privacy, you won't enjoy this place, but if you are looking for a quiet, accessible, enjoyable nice stay, I would definitely recommend this place. It was a delightful 3 days for us and we will be back for sure!

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GOING TO THIS CAMPGROUND!! I visited Grand Haven for the 4th of July, everything around was booked, so we unfortunately made reservations at this DUMP! The first night we got there we were yelled at for going 7MPH when the speed limit is 5 (my car idles at 7) they have radar guns. We had problems from the get go. They literally harrassed us at this camp. When we would leave for the day they would ask us "where are you going, what are you doing, when will you be back"..everything short of asking for our social security numbers. We had numerous visits by the staff for laughing too hard (they said we were laughing too loud). I find this ironic because the campground is located right next to the expressway with cars and motorcycles zooming by at 70 throughout the night and day. The campground also is located next to a railroad, where a train passed by everynight. The bathrooms/showers are TERRIBLE, as there was feces on the brims of the toilet and no toilet paper (showers were moldy and smelled like urine). Two guests that were camping next to us left because they were harrassed for allegadly stealing wood and being too loud on the 4th of July. The night of the 4th I finally couldn't take the harrassment from the staff any longer. They said we couldn't drive through the park anymore because they clocked us with their radar gun going 7 mph. I finally snapped and told them quit harrassing me. They called the police. When the cops showed up I told them what happened and they said they get this all the time from this campground and that it is the worst place to stay in Grand Haven. The cops agreed with my complaints and were very polite and understanding. They informed me that there is not much I can do since it is privately owned. I packed up and left the camp around 1130 pm. The staff/owners look like they are off the hills have eyes, and are way too controlling. It makes me furious that they make you pay 3 days in advance because they harass you so much that you end up leaving after the 1st or 2nd night. They take your money and thats it. One of the staff members also made several sexual comments to one of my female friends. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CAMP. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE CREEPS YOUR MONEY. There is not one nice thing I can say about Campers Paradise. The staff is trash and they all live in the campground. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
