Overall

The Garland, TX Red Robin USED to be the standard upon which we judged other RR (over 5 yrs ago). We came here for all our birthday parties and celebrations. The folks were great and we loved the place. Always left happy and the girls with balloons. Then one day, the big Robin was gone. It seems ever since then the experience gets worse with each visit.

This last one was a multi-car train-wreck that made Denny's look good (and that is hard to do). We were seated at a table that looked like it came from a hobbit hut because it slanted so badly. The little table was pulled to the big table. Each slanted in a different way but neither were straight. What was worse, I had specifically requested a table NOT a booth and get a half/half. The girls were hungry so we took it.

The silverware that was wrapped in the napkins were literally filthy. It looked like, mine especially, was wrapped up after someone used them and never washed. Food and "things" were stuck to it inside the napkin. NASTY!!!

I am disabled and the waitress, who was too lazy to stand, fell against my cane 2X finally knocking it over. Plates came for the appetizers and were not sat on the table but thrown at you. I finally was able to get a refill on my ice tea and she poured it down my leg, onto my new leather shoes and across my granddaughter's Hello Kitty dress. Never once offering a napkin or anything. Then she finally said, "Oh do you want to get someone to mop that puddle of tea up?" No just let it there so I can slip and fall on it. Yes, of course I do! A nice, and only nice person in this place, came over and mopped the floor. She was the only professional in the entire restaurant staff.

After 4 requests and my eldest daughter going to the manager, the rest of the table was finally able to get refills. Dishes were never picked up. We had a "leaning tower of Piza" waiting for her. Again, after hunting the manager down, a few were removed.

The waitress was always scarce and hard to locate. Rarely would she come back to check on the table. As I said the tables slanted; they were so badly sloped the food kept sliding. The condensation from the drinks increased this issue. Then the condensation was strong enough that it began to run, not drip, off the table and down my elders daughter's clothing. Again, back to the manager; since the waitress nor any of the bus people will bring napkins despite repeated requests or fix the table. He rudely slammed a pile of paper-towels at my daughter.

She had requested extra jalapeno coins with her burger. Never got them. My buffalo strips were to come with celery and blue cheese, per the menu. Waitress, aloofly said, we don't do that here. I said the menu says you do.

The meal progressed with more of these situations but you get the picture.

This is the third strike for this location. As they say, three strikes and you are out. We are out of here! As for other RR, I question if they are worth the money or time. You all were once a very nice chain. With the series of service and poor experiences we have had over the past 4 years; you are worse then Denny's, the restaurant where you are guaranteed to have your food and something hot spilled on you while your order is messed up - every time! The fun of going to them is to see how badly they will do and what they will mess up next. Even that amusement has worn off.

I just someone to get my order right, keep my drinks full and leave without wearing anything from the table due to wait staff neglect. Is that so hard to accomplish? Apparently it is for RR these days!

Family place

This seems to be a very good family place to eat. The food, service and atmosphere is good.
