I have been an over 13 year client with Bayview. Have paid every high bill at every visit. My ten year old dog has been there since he was a puppy. I came home to find my dog ill. I was out on hold for 15 minutes to find out that no one could see him. Cold, curt and unhelpful. And I am a long term client and a physician in the community. What a terrible way to find out they don't care about your pet, you or your long term relationship. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Dr. Nelson and the entire staff are wonderful! I had to put my dog down recently and they treated us like part of their family. There is no better vet clinic out there!

This is one busy place! Because the demand to get quality care from Bayview Animal Clinic is so great. Sometimes I have to wait, sometimes not at all. The trade off is superior care. My vet is Dr. Nelson.Tough decision was made for my cat. Dr. Nelson and I talked about the best route of treatment (long term & short term) balanced with the smartest cost option (Take the initiative and ask). I am disabled w/ limited income. Sadly, my cat "lil girl" had her eye removed, but because the compassion that Dr. Nelson has, has saved her life once again. Dr. Nelson has saved her life 3 times!. Because of him, she has lived a healthy 9 1/2 yrs. now and will continue to live a full long life. Are they the cheapest? No. Do you have to wait sometimes? Yes. Does the front desk get hectic? YUP! Do I trust Dr. Nelson? 1000 percent!!! I am forever grateful :)

I treat my dog like my son, who has been in my life for ten years now. Trust me when I say, I am extremely critical when it comes to finding a great vet. I struck gold when a friend recommended Bayview Animal Clinic over four years ago, and met Dr. Rudd Nelson and the team of doctors and staff. After one conversation with him, it was evident that he had a genuine concern and a true vested interest in my golden retriever. If you are looking for a new vet, or want to try another location, do yourself a favor and give them a try…you will not be disappointed.

Took my cat here on a Saturday because she was throwing up and not feeling well. My usual vet Dr. Smith went out of town so the owner Dr. Nelson kept her for 72 hours. I would call for updates and she was either not eating and still sickly or eating and feeling better (get your story straight). I called on Monday and they told me she was better and to pick her up. When I got there they handed me an 800.00 bill and my cat in her carrier. When I got her home I was shocked to see how ill my cat was, she was actually worse then when I took her in but I figured maybe she was just in shock.

After a few hours she just got worse so I called their emergency after hours number which they claim they'll actually meet you up at their offices. I started calling at 10:45pm and never got a return call. I took her to Lauderdale Vet Specialist and they did an X-Ray and found an obstruction. They needed to do surgery but first had to give her transfusions and try to stabilize her because she was so ill. Luckily they operated the next day and saved her life but this cost me over 5000.00 dollars. I totally put the blame on Dr. Nelson.

I like Dr. Smith and if he was to ever change offices I would follow him but I can't continue to put money in Dr. Nelson's pocket since he is the owner.

We tried before some vets help...

We tried before some vets help, including a surgery that cost us ridiculous much, until we find this Bayview Animal Hospital. Everybody there helped us as much as our dog was their own. Prices are extremely decent, their availability is legendary. Our boxer Spartacus had a lot of health problems and he was seen by Dr.Brunz and as well by the others. They communicated between them so they know the problems at any time. They also walked me through the painful process to get ready and accept when he died and helped even with the cremation. I can not stop thank them enough.I wanted to write this earlier, but I couldn't because of my tiers.

I highly recommend this place to all my friends and acquaintances.

Best of the Vets!

Ditto to all the positive reports of these three wonderful Vets!  I can't believe the negative reports except to say that everyone has a bad day!
I started going to Bayview about 5 years ago after my former vet almost killed my newly diagnosed diabetic 10 year old cat twice in two days.  (I gave him a second chance.). After the emergency vet  saved his life twice at a cost of $1800, I was advised to take my cat to Rudd Nelson at Bayview, which is very conveniently located.  I have 6 cats, 2 dogs, and a 23 year old yellow-napped Amazon, so I have had lots of experiences, including several emergency calls, to see the magic that the whole staff performs!  Just recently they saved my 10 year old Ragdoll from kidney failure!   I would and have recommended these vets to anyone, because in 99% of the time they perform miracles.  (I am sorry for those  1% ers who have had a not so great experience.)

Dr. Christopher Smith not only...

Dr. Christopher Smith not only saved our dog's life, but kept us (scared owners) well informed pre & post surgery. His expert clinical skills caught a life threatening event during a routine visit. We are so very grateful to him & his staff. He is very thorough, not like typical vets that rush in & out quickly. His explanations were easy to comprehend (not full of difficult to understand medical terminology). He truly works in the best interest of the patient whether it be a dog, cat, etc! His love for animals is obvious & genuine. He called us promptly after lab results arrived & did not leave this task for a secretary. It's evident that he loves what he does. Again, we can not give enough accolades to this animal clinic that saved our pug, Milo.

This is the ONLY place I'd bring my furry 4-legged best friend!
