I have been fortunate to have a Counseling position that enables me to work with an culturally, financially, educational and racially diverse population; as a licensed Mental Health counselor for the City of New York for 20 years. In the course of treating individuals from all walks of life I realized that different therapeutic solutions are needed for different individuals. Not only do different types of problems need different types of therapeutic modalities but different issues require a therapist to change direction, focus and treatment. Life is not one-dimensional so therapy ought not to be either. Over the course of this time I have developed an array of techniques and processes which can be tailored to your personality and your life experiences. Most importantly, I have experienced what it is like to be in therapy. I have sat in your chair and know first hand the issues that clients face when meeting with a therapist At the core of all therapy, exists a fundamental human connection. This is perhaps the most important element to effective counseling. Therapy can be a sterile process whereby you work with individuals that you have never met before to discuss the most difficult issues in your life. It is a very humbling experience for me and one that I do not take lightly. Lastly, I believe in treating the whole person. Over the course of many years I have developed a healing network that my clients have benefited from. For example, in traditional Chinese medicine mood is very connected to underlying imbalances in the body. I can make recommendations to other highly qualified practitioners that can advance your treatment process. While it is not a requirement, many of my clients have benefited from a holistic form of treatment.

I have worked with individuals of all ages, cultures, race and religions. My experience includes working with depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, relationship issues, and bereavement. In addition, I am qualified to provide career counseling. I also have experience working with young adults ages 17 and above.
