I wish i could give a negative star. At first we fell in love! Places for our dogs to play(dog parks) bbq near the pool, we loved out nice It was and how spacious it was In The apartment. There were pink and black spots all over the wall a crack in the fake tile in our bathroom, outlets place wrong, the wires above my stove for my light and fan constantly go out, my sink seal comes up and forms mildew, a huge hole in my door like someone had punched it, and random holes in our ceiling, out dishwasher leaves a disgusting residue which makes it lol even more dirty before going in(I semi wash before placement), the hot water in out dishwasher doesn't work(maintance said he couldn't do anything about if, and our air thermometer is way off. After the first week we moved in our fire sprinkler went off in our apartment RANDOMLY ( I know very odd and not normal), damaged EVERYTHING! I know matainace had been going in without notice until After the fact! I hate it here and we haven't been here a month! So disappointed and the staff is rude!

I had to give this place one star but honestly I couldn't even give this place one damn star. Maybe if the old apartment manager was here, and things were in order like they were when she was here, I could give them some recognition, but after she left everything went down the drains. They say they are here to accommodate their residents, well yea that is bull. They say that they are here to accommodate the military well yea that is bull too.

I was super excited to move into this place, the application process was easy, they promised us a second floor apartment, due to my health issues, and what could be better then moving into a place that was brand new and never lived in. Well all my happiness went to sorrow, the day I arrived. The apartments are built cheap as all can be. within minutes of being their I noticed the walls weren't painted, their were cracks everywhere, nails were sticking out of the carpet, the edging was falling off, it was horrible. We didn't even have a functioning stove for a week, we had to go out and buy the right plug in for the outlet, and do you think we ever got reimbursed, yea in our dreams. Work order after work order was put in, their maintenance team would show up temporarily fix the issue and within a week it all went to s**T again. Now we are getting ready to move out and were told by the apartment manager that we were paid a half month up and rent and amazingly today we are a month behind. I just think that its amazing how the word of the apartment manager mind you he has only been in the position for less then a week has changed in just a few days. He told us when we went in to notify them that we were leaving that all we had to do was make sure that we paid a half of a months rent for may and we were paid in full. But all of a sudden I get a phone call stating today that we owe a whole months rent and if it isn't paid by today we will charged a late fee. Could you imagine the anger that filled my body.

Not only do they lie to residents, there management team is never around for long. I can honestly say I think I have seen 5 or 6 team members quit due to the companies inability to accommodate their residents, stay true to their word, or run a efficient apartment complex. Now they have babies in the office pretending to run everything but in all honesty screwing everything up,

Did I mention that I received a letter from them saying my lease was up in April of 2013 but I signed a one year lease and I signed it in May of 2012. How hard is it to do the math and verify the correct move out date for a resident previous to sending them a letter saying that if they don't resign their lease or inform them that you are staying your rent will go up over 200 dollars.

I already pay 835 dollars a month for rent for an apartment that has been falling apartment since day one, I live on the third floor not the second floor like I was promised, and I have to wait at least a month for a work order to be completed by men who barely speak English.

If I could ever give anyone any kind of advice it would be to stay the hell away from this s**t hole and find a more suitable, honest and reliable place to live. They will steal your money and a year of your life for absolutely nothing in return.

terrible terrible

The application and move in process was great. And then I moved in, I had a brand new apartment nobody had ever lived in, and it was incomplete. Stiff was broken, bunches of things didn't work. The management here are rude and don't listen to anything you say. If you have kids they will never get any sleep due to the constant parties here. The floor plan is decent, but that's about it. They willovercharge you for pets. And keep adding charges. They will use any little reason to evict you and make you pay for it. I have lived here almost a year, and I have not meet a single person here who likes it. Do not move here, you will be miserable.

wish i could give them 0 stars but it won't let me. military beware...they price this place because they know how much you get from BAH and they try to take it all. the place is built so bad, the walls are falling apart. walls are so thin, you can hear your neighbor snore. and instead of fixing all the problems with the current buildings, they decided to double the complex and build new, horribly built apartment buildings so they can scam more military families. they will show u a beautiful apartment and tell you lies, then give you a half-done apartment and you're stuck. cops are always out here. its unsafe for children. they say they have a "play area" but its like one bouncy toy and that's it. they "dog parks" are always under construction and not fenced in. HORRIBLE staff...they make threats and try to fine you for things you haven't done...even corporate is rude and really don't give a crap about you. DO NOT RENT HERE

Let me begin by saving some of your time and money by telling you to keep driving when you see this place. If you enjoy sleep, and enjoy saving money, this is not the place for you. Do you enjoy sleep? my wife and i both do, but when the walls are so thin that you can hear a childs footsteps while watching television? there must be a problem. When i say "the walls are thin" it is no joke, and more than just annoying. But dont take my word for it, take a tour, you will certainly see a very nice unit that will make you fall in love. But please dont just walk around and look for the obvious. yes, the outside of the buildings are nice. But when you walk into your "NEW" unit, to see paint spread on the base of the carpet, and hardly any paint on the walls to where you can clearly see the dry-wall. For the amount the management charges, you deserve a better living space. Overall, the 4 months that my wife and i have lived here, I would take a considerable amount of time to find a rental that is worth the money. Military friendly they say? You will believe that when they make you pay a full months rent after telling you and your family that you will only pay for the days you live in the unit. I turned my orders for deploymeny in 30 days prior to moving, yet i am still stuck with the bill for a full month. You have been warned.

When we first moved to Van Hor...

When we first moved to Van Horne Estates we fell in love with it. We thought we had found a nice apartment complex for the military. During the months of September-December I was in contact with Daisy (who is no longer here) about getting an apartment near the end of December when my husband returned back home from Iraq, we were told there we're dog parks, a huge swimming pool, areas for cleaning up our pets poop all over the place, that there were laundry facilities located on the first and third floors of every building, spacious grilling areas with lounging chairs, plenty of parking and the list went on, making it sound like a fantastic place.. When we looked at the show apartment it was fantastic, looked spacious, clean, etc. When we were brought to our actual apartment there were multiple issues that we put on the "damages paper" that you see when you first move in. After about a month we noticed small holes starting to appear in our ceilings, the floors have white paint on them from the walls being sloppily painted, the electrical outlet covers are not placed properly, the oven has been smoking and setting the fire alarm off from day one ( yes, I clean it every time I use it due to this), the pipes under my sink have busted 3 times now flooding my kitchen and ruining anything that I have under the sink (I've finally learned not to place anything under there), the carpet tacking is sticking up from the ground; making it feel like I am walking on nails, there are random holes in the Water Heater/AC area, the supports in that area are also held up by duck tape and they are painted over with white paint, there are random splatters of brown paint all over our ceilings, and there are pictures to prove this all. Also, as I stated at the beginning of this rating concerning the multiples amenities that this apartment complex has, the dog parks were built 6 months after I moved in, and consist of fake grass placed very sloppily , the pool couldn't be open due to failing health issues, it was opened about a month and a half ago, the grills were just placed, right next to the pool, the parking lot is full because there are about 10 parking spaces available per building, which means that 12 apartments must fit their vehicles into 10 spaces, in this day and age most families have at least 2 vehicles, they are supposedly military friendly but the manager, Nancy (for the life of me I can not remember her last name) has the worst attitude and customer service skills around. She sat outside my sliding glass door one night talking to my neighbors, her RESIDENTS, saying "I fu**ing dare her to do anything to me.", talking about another set of residents that had just left the property, I get blamed for all of the poop that gets left outside of my apartment, yes I pick up after my dogs every time, and have been charged multiple $25 dollar fees because they say that I need to take pictures of the other dogs pooping and have proof that the other people did not pick it up.

I know everyone has their own experience with apartments, but this place is a joke. I wouldn't even want my worst enemy to live here.
