I have been to this salon twice and both times I had completely opposite experiences. The first time I went in, I was helped by a younger woman who did a fantastic job. I explained to her what I wanted and although she hesitated, I was incredibly pleased with the job that she did. I have very thick hair and had yet, until that day, found someone who could cut it short without butchering it. She was pleasant and sweet and really made me happy. The price was reasonable and my overall experience was great.

I decided to go back several months later. I needed an appointment quick so I took the next available person who happened to be an older lady who worked in the upstairs portion. I was so disappointed with this trip. I went in wanting to take my hair the opposite direction I had gone in the past. I wanted bright blond hair. The stylist did everything that she could to talk me out of it. She told me it was a bad idea because I don't go into the salon enough. I tried to explain to her that because I had dyed my hair back to it's natural color and because my hair was still so healthy from my last visit that there was no reason for me to come in until I wanted a change. She continued to try to talk me out of going all the way blond by offering to give me highlights. I ended up with about 5 foils in my hair because she thought it would look more natural if I only did the top. She also actually said this to me ... "you should be glad you're not going all the way blond, you are a smart girl. You don't want to look like a bimbo, now you'll look like you are ready for a job interview." After coloring my hair, she started the cut. It was also a complete disappointment. I was interested in a side sweeping bang but ended up with a short - uneven bang that I couldn't do anything with. I take responsibility for the fact that I didn't fight her judgment and left knowing that I was unhappy. I wanted to go back to complain but had to leave town for a little over a month the very next morning (hence needing a quick appointment). I am going to go back but I will only be seeing the original stylist. I know that the woman was worked there for a long time but I was so hurt that my wants were completely thrown out the window. I felt defeated.

I will be going in again and will hopefully fall back in love with the salon when I get my original stylist back. I would recommend them to friends but would not forget to steer them away from the woman that I saw that day.



I guess every place has it's good and bad ...
