I sought multiple bids from spray foam insulators in the area and Coastal bid a competitive price with a closed cell insulation that didn't require an additional intumescent coating. I did have some concerns regarding whether it would pass inspection, but the inspector said that the Icynene closed cell product met code based on the flame spread rating.



The day of the installation, two workers came by an tarped the whole basement floor and tarped around windows and areas that needed to be protected from overspray. The job was finished in 3 hours and job site was left exactly as it was the day before. The workers ran an exhaust fan during the spraying and left it overnight to continue to exhaust the off-gas.



Building inspector came the next day and passed the installation without issue and kept the project on schedule. Hopefully it will keep our basement nice and chilly in the summer, warm in the winter, and dry year round.
