Overall
A WARM FRIENDLY MEAL

A beautifully decorated, warm and friendly atmosphere tucked away in the rear of a shopping center away from traffic and providing ample parking. From the moment we opened the door, my wife and I were warmly welcomed, our senses instantly felt the warmth with the beautiful decor and lovely soft music filled that filled the atmosphere.

Our host that evening was Murat. He treated us like family. It was our very first Turkish meal. I had the filet mignon and my wife had a Falafel sandwich. Nice dinner music played as my taste buds went wild from the delicious seasonings combined to perfection steamed on my plate. The price was very reasonable.

Being a New Yorker from The heart of Manhattan, I was drawn to the ample parking initially after a long day of shopping. I felt like I was visiting another country if only for dinner. I tip my hat off to Cafer the owner (who personally greeted my wife and I), for a very fine restaurant. I highly recommend The Pita House to all! If you want fresh, delicious Turkish food, try the Pita House, in East Setauket, Long Island. I guarantee you'll come back for more!

General Info
"To understand why Cafer Sahin's Turkish restaurant has such a loyal following, one has only to taste his house-made gyro, be it lamb or turkey. He slices the meat raw, marinates it and then threads it onto the meat. A specialty of Sahin's hometown is kuvurma, an intriguing combination of lamb chunks with grilled peppers, tomatoes, bulgur rice, and yogurt sauce. The ideal conclusion is kazandibi, light cinnamon scented custard, rolled and baked..." By Joan Reminick Newsday Staff Writer
