Teeth Cleaning
Most dental treatments for periodontal disease do not require surgery. More often than not, good dental cleaning habits and regular dental checkups will ensure that periodontal disease does not develop.

Fillings
Crowns
Crown lengthening is a simple surgical procedure where additional tooth structure is exposed by adjusting and re-contouring the position of the gum around an affected tooth. This lengthening provides additional tooth structure for your dentist to affix the dental restoration (filling or crown).
Bridges
I had 3 implants placed by Dr. Davenport over a 3 month period of time. Dr. Davenport is an extremely skilled periodontist and the results of my implants and subsequent bridges and crowns have been nothing less than spectacular. Definitely recommend anybody to Dr. Davenport.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
Dr. Davenport has helped me to smile again! After years of hiding my smile, I had a gingivectomy and Dr. D has worked closely with me to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my new smile. I couldn’t be happier!
Periodontal Surgery
As with any other surgery, discomfort follows periodontal surgery. Take the prescribed pain medication, as soon as possible after surgery, and continue this on a regular basis throughout the first day, usually every four hours. Beginning the day after surgery, use the pain pills as needed. If the medication makes you nauseous, take it with food such as milk. Please call if problems persist.
Deep Cleaning
Scaling & Root Planing is the most common non-surgical treatment for periodontal disease. Special instruments are used to remove bacteria from the infected pockets around the teeth and below the gum line. This is often referred to as a “deep cleaning,” and when done by a periodontist, may be the only treatment a patient needs.

Dentures
Dr. Davenport was one of the first periodontists in the Atlanta area to be trained in 2006 to provide patients with the revolutionary technique called “Teeth In An Hour” which allows patients to go from no teeth to a full set of functioning teeth, without dentures, in less than a day. The ability to provide his patients with this technology is the answer to the prayers of many. Unhappy with dentures, a Peachtree Periodontics patient can undergo a comprehensive 3D scan in Dr. Davenport’s office that permits him to accomplish virtual surgery on a computer model, and then proceed with minimally invasive surgery that allows the patient to walk out the door with new teeth. In addition to the precision of the Teeth In An Hour, the procedure generally has a quicker healing time and less pain that traditional full mouth rehabilitation.

I did not know what to expect when it came to my gum surgery. I figured I would have a lot more pain and discomfort than I did. Dr. Davenport did an exceptional job on my gum grafts and it is amazing how well and easily my gum had healed. The staff at the office is exceptionally polite and organized. The whole experience has been great.
