Every time we go to Sweet Georgia Brown the service is top notch and the food is "fall out of my chair" good! One time I didn't see what I wanted exactly on the menu (I'm vegetarian except for seafood) so the chef whipped up something special for me and it was fantastic!!! The scallops were almost as big as the filet mignon! And much more succulent than any other scallop I've ever tasted in my life, and believe me, coming from the south and being a seafood lover, I would know! The atmosphere is elegant and you feel like you're the only person your waitress/waiter has that whole evening. You can't go wrong in going here for a wonderful evening out.

Where do I begin? After years of hearing about this 'gem' of a restaurant downtown, I decided I would take my wife out for an evening of fine dining. We made reservations for 7:30 and arrived on time. We were quickly shuttled off to a wine stained couch to wait for a table in a place half empty. After 15 minutes in the freezing cold (the furnace was broke) we were finally seated. After another 10 minutes, the waitress finally arrived to take our drink orders. I should have taken the cue from the other patrons, as we had seen 4 tables get up and leave in the short time we sat both due to the cold, and lack of service. The waitress finally arrived with our drinks and recommend the soup to warm up with. A loaded baked potato soup that tasted like cream of wheat with a hint of bacon. Not good. I excused myself to go to the restroom where I found dirty walls, dirty countertops, no toilet paper, and no hand towels. This was more like a camp mess hall than a fancy restaurant. To make a long story short, the food sucked. Pecan encrusted lamb chops where plain, cold lamb chops with some store bought barbecue sauce. The filet was tasteless and also well done. Oh and the bill for all this, $146. Please please please, don't waste your time with this dump. There are plenty of great spots in the D to patronize, this is not one.

The food is good but the service isn't consistent. You would expect better service for the prices that you pay for the meals.
