Ronda Tate Truvillion is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group, which includes Lewis & Munday’s Labor and Employment practice group. She represents corporations in a variety of employment disputes—starting at the investigation stage through litigation and appeal—that arise out of discrimination, retaliation, harassment and whistleblower claims. Ronda has extensive experience defending matters in both the state and federal courts, as well as before administrative tribunals such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

Joining the Firm in 1977 right out of law school, Munday was a charismatic revolutionary who was intent on being a conduit for change. Specializing in real estate law, Munday has represented various municipal corporations in the development of a number of major projects in the City of Detroit. Some of those projects included the Trolley Plaza Apartments, the Robert L. Millender Center, Trapper’s Alley, the Madison Center Courthouse, the Cobo Hall Expansion Project, the Chrysler Jefferson Avenue Assembly Plant and the Chrysler Mack Avenue Engine Plant, to name a few.

Over 20 years ago, T.L. began his legal career working as an assistant district attorney for the District Attorney of New York. In 2003, he joined a major Detroit law firm where he successfully handled a wide array of complex matters, including defense of products and premises liability cases; defense of environmental contamination claims under the Michigan Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act; defense and prosecution of breach of contract, tortious interference, breach of shareholder/member fiduciary duty and other business tort claims; and defense and prosecution of commercial and residential construction matters.

Reuben A. Munday is Chairman Emeritus of the law firm of Lewis & Munday, P.C. in Detroit, Michigan, where he has practiced law since 1977. From 1994 to 2003, Reuben served as President and CEO of the Firm. His primary areas of practice include commercial leases, mortgage financing, commercial and industrial real estate development, construction law and municipal corporations. Born in Orange, New Jersey, Reuben was raised in Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, where his parents taught at Tuskegee Institute, now Tuskegee University. He is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Kingston, Pennsylvania where he received the Ruggles Award as the outstanding graduating senior. Reuben is married to Dr. Cheryl Casselberry Munday, who is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. Reuben and Cheryl have one son, Reuben Ahmed Munday, and one grandson, Reuben Akil Munday.
Real Estate Transactions
Ngozi E. Nwaesei is Chair of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Ngozi's primary area of practice is real estate transactions, including, but not limited to: affordable housing developments; commercial leases; and real property acquisition and disposition. She has extensive experience in the negotiation and drafting of purchase agreements, development agreements, leases, option agreements, and other real estate related documents. In addition, she is also active in the area of public law and economic development and works extensively with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, the City of Detroit Downtown Development Authority, The Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit and the City of Detroit Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The diversity of her clients allows her to be involved in many projects that combine her legal expertise with her practical understanding of the economic development process. Ngozi is well versed in various public financing incentives and resources, including but not limited to, brownfield plans, tax increment financing, etc. She also advises her clients on the interpretation of several Michigan statutes, including but not limited to the Brownfield Redevelopment Financing Act (Act 381), Downtown Development Act (Act 197), Economic Development Corporations Act (Act 338), Corridor Improvement Act (Act 280), Open Meetings Act (Act 267) and the Freedom of Information Act (Act 442), etc.

Hans J. Massaquoi is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group, which includes Lewis & Munday’s Employment and Labor litigation practice. Hans is an experienced trial lawyer with significant first-chair jury trial experience in both state and federal court. He is also experienced in other forms of ADR, including arbitration and mediation. In his nearly 30 years with Lewis & Munday, Hans has represented corporations, both large and small, governmental entities and individuals, including several world-class entertainers, in various commercial, insurance, products liability and personal injury cases. Hans serves intermittently as a Wayne County Case Evaluator, a privately-retained mediator, a court-appointed receiver and he has served as an Assistant Michigan States Attorney General by Special Appointment. Before coming to Lewis & Munday, Hans served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. James B. Parsons in US District court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.

Laura is a former Fundraising Chair of the Hispanic American Law Student Association (HALSA) and a former key speaker and presenter of Lender’s Perspectives at Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation CLEs in Florida.
