Opportunity Homes, located in Decorah, Iowa, is a private nonprofit human service agency. Founded in 1979, the organization provides residential options to individuals suffering from a variety of cognitive and physical disabilities. It offers individuals the opportunity to participate in their home of choice in order to attain the highest degree of independence. Opportunity Homes provides Chapter 24 services to individuals who experience mental retardation or are dually diagnosed. Its children's mental health waiver program is designed for children up to the age of 18 years, with a diagnosis of serious emotional disturbance. The organization s home and community-based supported community living services are approved by the Department of Human Services.
