Rain

Wednesday evening, 8 May. Horrible service, mediocre food. Seated at 7:35PM, did not get a menu until 7:45, no drink service offered. Waitress came around 7:50, did not know the menu. I ordered a Crabcake appetizer, scallop and mayo nigiri, and the Chilean Sea Bass. i had to point the items out on the menu to the waitress. Waiter came over and said the Sea Bass was now Swordfish, I said OK. 10 minutes later waiter came back and said out of crabcakes and Swordfish, I said OK, bring me the steak and Vietnamese Spring rolls, finally got a glass of water. Waiter brought out Spring Rolls at about 8:15, said he wanted to get them to me while they were hot. Bit into one, it was literally still cold in the middle. Could not get waiters attention, finally called the restaurant on my cell phone and told them to send over the waiter. 10 minutes later waiter finally came, sent Spring Rolls back. Also asked him to bring me a napkin as there were none on the table and he had never brought one. Finally got steak but no scallops. After reminding waiter of the scallops, the scallops came after I had finished the entree. Asked to see the manager. Had to ask twice, he finally came after another 10 minutes. Looked to me like he was just another waiter. Meanwhile, the lady at the next table sat at her table with a menu, no water, no drink, for 35 minutes before she finally go up and hunted down a waiter. I was there for one hour and 30 minutes, what an ordeal. The restaurant was maybe half full, no excuse for this horrible service. I will never eat there again. Eat Well Sushi is 5 minutes away and is a great sushi restaurant and has Rain beat in every way, hell, any sushi restaurant in Memphis has Rain beat.

This restaurant is hit or miss. Sometimes it is great and others not so much. I usually just get the pizza as it is usually good. The creme brule is HORRID don't waste your money and terrify your taste buds with that mess. My spouse eats sushi and states that the sushi is usually pretty good. Service is pretty good.

The food was terrible. My dad had the "field green salad", which was wilted shredded iceberg lettuce (like on a taco at Taco Bell), and rice vinegar. That was ALL that the salad was, there were no carrots, tomatoes, or anything else. We had to ASK for silverware, and after that the waitress only came up to us to ask what we wanted to order for dinner. We aasked about the Monday special, which on their website was advertised as All you can eat sushi and Hibachi for 22.95. She told me that they did this on tuesday not monday. When I showed her their website with the Monday special on my I-Phone, she said that the website was wrong and there was no manager to ask, so we were "out of luck" because she "didn't want to call him". When my dad told her how terrible the salad was, she told us that's how they come and that they had more expensive salads with field greens but that "you probably don't want to pay the extra money for it" in a very sarcastic tone! When we assured her that we COULD afford it, she told us that they were actually out of field greens for the field green salad and that other salads would be prepared the same way. We got up and left, but not before they insisted we pay for the salad! Thankfully, we went to Thai Bistro which was next door and had some of the BEST food and service ever! So GO TO THAI BISTRO WHICH IS NEXT DOOR TO RAIN, BUT DO NOT GO TO RAIN UNLESS YOU WANT TERRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE THAT BORDERS ON HARASSMENT!

My friend and I have gone here a couple of times, and the prices are very good. However! Beware - I got my hair there last week and trying to find a fixer cut today! My hair doesn't look like what I wanted and they put highlights in that were are not even noticable. The people were friendly but I didn;t get what I wanted. My friend had problems too- we won;t be back
