Almost Home Pet Retreat

We never felt comfortable taking our dog any place, other than with us on trips. We were going on a trip and it was impossible to take him with us. I searched for a place to take him and reluctantly went for the interview process at Almost Home Pet Retreat. He passed the visit/interview Linda uses for screening. I still was hesitant about leaving him but only because of the negative comments left here on reviews. I MADE myself do it. Not one time did I worry about him on the trip because I felt anyone who interviews a dog before accepting, has her dogs and others in her best interest. This was a couple of years ago. We still take him there when we go out of town and he seems eager to be at his home away from home.



I am convinced, without a doubt, my dog is happier staying with Linda at Almost Home Pet Retreat than going on long trips with us.



He is deaf, on special food and takes medicines. They are accepting of making sure he gets what he needs, which keeps me happy.



This last time they kept him for me a week during 4th of July. When I picked him up, he was groomed so I like that service, too. It made my chores after the trip much easier .



I am embarrassed to say, I did take him to a kennel one time while we were out of town (only because of convenience for me). I will NEVER take him to a kennel again. He was miserable while we were gone and it was pretty obvious.

My dog enjoys his visits to Almost Home, and I have the peace of mind knowing that he is well taken care of. This place takes dog sitting to a new level. It is well worth the hour that it takes me to get there.

Before I found Miss Linda and this wonderful place for my beloved Yorkie, Jolie, I had stopped traveling. I had left her many times in the past with several places. Every time I would come home to a very sick dog, After her near death on my last trip I had given up until I found Miss Linda. She takes care of her special needs and I come home to a well groomed and taken care of Jolie. She also takes care of my English Mastiff, Sadie , who loves to go there.

I can now leave my precious dogs now and know they are taken care of.

My dog LOVES to go to see Ms. Linda at Almost Home! When I tell Asia that she gets to go to "school" she gets so excited and as we get closer she begins to inch further up in the van, as if to tell me "don't forget.... we're almost there"! It is so much fun to see her take off and chase the dragon flies. Asis is a big dog and loves to be able to REALLY RUN! And if that's not enough she can swim in the pool or stand under the water mister when she gets hot.... or go dig in the sandbox. I would highly recommend this place if you love your dog ( or cat) as much as I love mine. Thanks Linda for a GREAT PLACE for Asia to come and play!!!
