Glamour Nails

My daughter and I visited there for the 1st (and last) time yesterday - for our birthdays. While I was getting a simple gel manicure, she wanted a set of acrylics - with black tips. The lady that did her nails about browbeat her into getting the gel coating. The acrylics were going to cost her $27. She kept telling her that the gel coating was only $13 more, that it wouldn't chip, etc. over and over and over again. My daughter told her that she just wanted the regular acrylic nails. The lady, again, told her about the gel coating & how much better it was. She made my daughter feel like she HAD to get the gel coating & pay the $40 instead of the $27. My daughter didn't want to pay $40 for her nails. After the lady finally got the hint that she wasn't going to convince my daughter to pay $40, she got an attitude. She asked my daughter how long she wanted her nails. THEN proceeded to tell her that there was a cost associated with each length. $27 would get her "very short" nails & showed her on her hand - basically as short as she could get them. To get any length on them at all, she told my daughter would be "$5 dollars extra". I was furious at that point and my daughter was about to cry. I told my daughter to go ahead with the length and I'd pay the extra. The lady cut the acrylic nails and began painting the black tip. She painted it to almost 1/2 of my daughter's nail bed, which looked tacky. She'd done only 4 nails of one hand when my daughter asked her if she could paint the tip a little more narrow. Again, the lady cops an attitude stating that she'd already painted the black tips and to take the paint off the 4 nails she'd done, it would cost "$3 extra dollars". Again, we said we'd pay it - just to get it done.



I've NEVER been to a nail salon where you had to pay for nail length on a set of acrylic nails NOR where it cost extra money to correct something for the client while still in her chair. Unbelievable. I was sick. We just wanted to get it done and get out.



We will never visit this salon again.

Worst place I've ever gotten my nails done. I took my two nieces, ages 8 and 9 to the salon as a surprise for their first professional manicure. There was nothing professional about this place or the staff. The manicures were lightning fast and they were laughing and speaking in another language the entire time (yes they could speak English but chose not to). Then my niece says "the man giving me the manicure called me baby" with a puzzled look on her face. Not cool.
