Overall
Despicable, Unprofessional, Unethical

My daughter was told by this office to wear an occlusal guard, because she was grinding her teeth during sleep. The guard was poorly made, and after many months, she began to experience pain. We took her to the orthodontist who had done her braces many years prior, and he did the best he could to first, assess, and then correct the damage done by the dentist. The result is that my daughter must wear braces again at a cost of over two thousand dollars, none of which is covered by our insurance, because of her age. Our orthodontist met with the dentist and the dentist's office manager to discuss the situation. The dentist denied any wrongdoing. When my wife called the dentist's office prior to the orthodontist's and dentist's meeting, the dentist used his office manager, who is not a dental professional, to discuss the dentist's culpability. The conversation did not go well. The dentist has chosen to avoid us and dismiss our concerns off the cuff, which is in keeping with his smart-aleck demeanor. To go around us and not look us in the eye in person exemplifies dishonesty and gross disrespect. The dentist was rude to our orthodontist when they met, which is odd, because they are professionals who are bound to a code of ethics. The dentist could not blow smoke at the orthodontist, or bend him to his twisted definition of the truth, so he got sarcastic with him. In addition, my personal experience was that I had three fillings seven months ago, and my teeth still ache. We have also received bills that were not itemized from the dentist's office, which we later found out included erroneous charges that were covered by our insurance. The dentist even charged us late fees on the erroneous charges. The dentist billed us for charges that violated the contract that his office agreed to with our insurance carrier as a preferred provider and demanded payment within ten days, so I had a customer service representative from our insurer call the dentist to explain that the dentist was stepping outside the bounds of the agreement. I reiterate: "despicable," "unprofessional," and "unethical." What would you think if you had been treated this way?
