Overall

My car suddenly stopped running so I had it towed to this Goodyear shop. I was told I needed a new battery, cleaning of the battery connectors, and an alternator. I told them to do the work not realizing that my husband had bought a new battery 2 years earlier. I honestly believe the only problem all along was the corroded battery connectors. They charged me over $600. I will never use this location again.

Overall
$1200 quote for fixing brakes when brakes did not need fixed

We took our CRV to Goodyear (North High - Graceland Shopping Center). We thought we might have brake problems. I noticed the peddle was closer to the floor and wondered if we needed new brakes? My husband thought so too. So, he took it this location. They took a day to look it over and came back with a $1200 quote. Told us we need a front brake over haul (new calipers, resurface rotors, pads fluid, bleed hydraulic system and so on). We had other things come up at the same time (isn't that always the case?) and so we couldn't afford the $1200 for the brake job. Got the printed out quote and started to call others to help us. Found a mechanic who could look at and possibly do it for less. But, we still need to save up some money for what they would do. We told them we had to wait a few weeks to save up the money. They said fine. We were really inconvenienced by this thinking the front brakes were bad. Had to rent a car for an emergency and were down to one car. Anyway - got some of the money saved - called the new mechanic. Took the CRV over - he took a couple hours to look at it - called me to tell me that nothing is wrong with it. He said our brake pads were at 50% (so needs replaced in 6/8 months) and the the rotors looked fine - calipers were fine? We didn't believe him at first. But he insisted nothing was wrong. Said if we wanted could replace the brake pads but didn't feel comfortable replacing the calipers and resurfacing the rotors since it didn't need done. We said ok - went to pick up the CRV and now everything is ok. Why would Goodyear tell us to overhaul the front brakes if it didn't need done? Or - if they didn't know what was wrong - why wouldn't they just replace the pads and charge us a couple hundred for that??? So, we have caught them in a scam! We have reported this to BBB and are trying to contact the owner to let them know of the practices their location is doing to people. We will NEVER take our cars back to them again! If they give you a quote on ANYTHING - get a 2nd opinion before letting them do the work!

Quick but costly

If you want your car back in a hurry and you don't mind paying extra this is a good place to go.
