Established in 1816, the Columbus Division of Police operates an administrative division that is comprised of internal affairs, professional standards, training, and business and personal bureaus. It undertakes issues related to burglary, murder, juvenile crime, sexual offenses, identity theft, forgery and drug abuse. The department has a missing persons unit that investigates the reports of high-risk missing persons and conducts follow-up investigations on missing persons. The Columbus Division of Police operates investigative, patrol and support services division. It hosts a citizens police academy that educates and trains people regarding its law enforcement services. The department also maintains a communication center that coordinates responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The Columbus Division of Police also provides various online crime reporting services. It is located in Columbus, Ohio.
