Established in 1966, the Ohio Department of Aging serves more than 2 million senior citizens in Ohio. The department provides a range of outreach and volunteer programs and home- and community-based services. The Ohio Department of Aging works with various statewide agencies, advocates and service providers. It manages various Medicaid-related programs, such as passport home- and community-based, self-directed choices, residential state supplement and assisted living waiver programs. The Ohio Department of Aging coordinates with the public relations and media outreach programs and organizes various special events and recognitions.
