I used to love this place but we bought a bathroom vanity and wanted to change the color. We didn’t have a receipt but just wanted an even exchange. They would only let has have the sale price so we we’re shorted $100 dollars! We just wanted the exact same thing in a different color the boxes were unopened but no they would not do an even exchange. Customer service is nonexistent

I am now having a nightmare of a kitchen delivery experience with IKEA. The after-sales process is simply amazingly terrible. And no one at IKEA College Park will take responsibility for missing 1/2 of our $10K order on the truck. No one will return our calls or emails. If you have a home in Virginia, use the Potomac Mills store, as the staff in Maryland will not support a Virginia installation. It will cost more, but go to a reputable kitchen planner and builder instead of IKEA. What a mistake I made.

I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE! Dealing with the College Park, MD Ikea was honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever had, this store does not care about their customers at all! I purchased a Kivik sofa at this store and paid for both the sofa and the delivery fee to have it delivered this past May 25th. On May 25th the sofa showed up with the box opened and a huge gash with major damage to the sofa so I declined receipt of the sofa and called IKEA customer service (as the delivery men told me to do). After almost an hour on hold I explained the situation and was told I would receive an email instructing me what to do to reschedule the delivery. A couple days later I then received an email instructing me to email in pictures of the damaged sofa which I couldn't do because I declined delivery of the destroyed sofa as I explained to customer service. I responded to the email explaining this and after not hearing back for almost a week I spent another hour holding on the phone to reschedule a delivery date which they weren’t able to do until June 14th. This time the delivery man arrived with an ottoman, not the sofa I purchased. After a couple more emails trying to reschedule the delivery for the correct item and a few more hours on hold (if you ever want to talk to anyone in this terrible company be sure to have at least a couple hours set aside to be on hold where you will hear a recording on loop telling you what a valuable customer you are), I was told a manager was too busy to talk to me that day but I was promised they would call me back the next day at 11:30 when I take my lunch break. The next day I took my lunch break at 11:30 and waited for an hour, no one called. I spent the next day on hold for once again just over an hour (I have a log of the case numbers, times, and the names of the people I talked to during this whole fiasco in case anyone is interested) when I finally talked to someone I explained the situation, they told me to hang up and the manager will call me back in five minutes, I explained how last time they told me that no one called me back but they assured me it would happen again. But as I’m sure you can guess with this joke of a store, I waited another hour without anyone calling me back until I bit the bullet and called again just to be put on hold (yes, again). Finally I talked to a manger, Amber (the one who was supposed to call me back twice before), she scheduled a redelivery date and said all she could do for all this trouble, taking now three days off work and a month of emails and phone calls, was refund the delivery fee and give me a 25 dollar gift certificate which THEY NEVER DID! I also asked to speak to her boss, Lauren, who she promised would call me back but of course and as I’m sure you can guess, never did. So if you speak to either manager, Amber or Lauren, don’t trust a word they say, they both lied to me and this store treated me like complete garbage. I can’t believe Ikea corporate tolerates this behavior. Whatever you do, DO NOT SHOP HERE! I also plan on contacting American Express to see if they can investigate the terrible business practices at College Park Ikea get me something back for this (because they are actually a good company that cares about their customers).

You could go nuts!

You really can shop ALL day, get some droolworthy stuff and not break the bank. I went to the College Park store recently and had a ball. Amongst other things, I bought 12 glass tea-light/candle holders for 6 bucks (total !), 4 chunky glass vases at 2.50 each (using them as silverware holders), scented tea-lights and a gazillion colored napkins. Also had salmon fillet and salad for less than $5.

The cushion inserts are one quarter the price of those at the usual shops, so I'll be

investing in a ton of them to fix up for Christmas prezzies. If you happen to receive a catalog in the mail, certainly look through for ideas, but I would strongly recommend a trip to any store to see the goodies for yourself.
