My mom is in the hospital there now. The nurses have been very good when they come in. It has a beautiful new facility but no one knows where anything is. My mom asked for a pillow nobody knew where they are at the bathrooms on the first floor were filthy. They put her in a room before they moved up with a lady that had contagious desease on her bottom and they were both using the same bathroom
What the lady had smelled so bad you could barely stand it all the staff wearing white were unfriendly and while walking would cut you off to get to some where first. The volunteers at the front just grunted barely when you asked questions
The only pace to get coffee was the cafeteria
The cafeteria food was so horible as was the patients food. It appeared they put my mom on wing with mostly older people and I don't think they care as much about these patients. Mom is 78 and still mows an acre of lawn. She not your typical old person . We know nothing more then when she came in. With such a beautiful reno you need train your people from bottom to top basic people skills

The Emergency department at Anderson Mercy Hospital, is absolutely horrible! I had the worst experience I have ever had at this facility. The staff is VERY rude and unprofessional and just down right nasty!!!! Do not recommended this facility to anyone at all!!!!

Used to love this hospital. Had many friends n family that worked there and loved also. But who ever is running it now is running it and its employees into the ground. They refuse to hire adequate staff.. People who have worked there for years are being taken advantage of

Hubby spent 6 days at Anderson and received the best care. The nurses are so attentive and spot on. I appreciated their help in getting him back on his feet. Thank you.

I have had 2 kids there, both spent time in the nicu due to being slightly premature. The delivery room nurses are fantastic. It could not have been a better experience. The nicu staff is just as wonderful. I would recommend this hospital to anyone for these 2 services. I can't comment on the rest because I have not been there for anything else.

Don't go to the Emergency Room there no matter what! I went there (my wife drove me) with a horrible migraine, bad stomach pains and a 104 fever. I was in bad shape and had no idea what was wrong. Once I got there, I waited and waited, and finally 2 hours later, that's right 2 hours, I got called back to be seen by a nurse in the triage area who was rude and didn't ask any questions about how I was feeling. She took my vitals and sent me back to the waiting area because all of the rooms were full! Then, another hour passes and I'm called back to a room in the Emergency area where a nurse came in and took my vitals again and asked what was wrong. Well they did an x-ray and blood work and I waited again for another 2 1/2 hours! My wife had to go to the desk area and ask what was going on and what was taking so long. Finally, the doctor came in who was very rude, in a hurry, and kept looking at his watch. He was in there all of 2 minutes, said 4 or 5 words, then walked out. He didn't have a diagnosis, didn't ask if I had any questions or concerns. Nothing!! This is the worst hospital I have ever been at. I have heard from other people how this place has a terrible ER with incompetent and rude doctors. I believe it now. Also, this place can't handle any major traumas like a stabbing or losing a finger!! They have to call UC Aircare to pick them up and take them to a real hospital. Pathetic! I don't know how this place stays open.

I went into the emergency room in December with intense pains, and blood in my urine. I had absolutely no idea what was going on but my whole body was shaking, I was sweating, and I had to use the restroom every few seconds (months later from another hospital, I found out I had a bladder infection that would've required me to have stayed overnight in a hospital and treated). It took them 2 hours to even get me seen, and they simply made me pee in a cup and sit in the waiting room, AGAIN, while they waited for lab results (it took an hour before anyone even took the cup). Then finally I get seen by a nurse who takes all my vitals. 20 minutes later I see a doctor, who doesn't even look at me, looks at the chart and says "you have a mild UTI" and handed me my prescription with a preprinted instructions sheet for directions. I'm sure I'm biased in my anger considering the pain I was in and how long it took for anyone to see me, and then to not even actually be seen by a doctor. they gave me medicine to take 2x a day for 3 days. I followed it, and the supplemental instructions exactly and a month later I was back at a different hospital with the exact same pains and symptoms, at which point i'm told I had a severe bladder infection and the infection, based on the blood and urine samples from Mercy Anderson, had spread to my blood. If that isn't bad enough, 2 years later that I am being billed by a collections agency for the Mercy Anderson visit, when I never once received a bill. The hospital is telling me my insurance company denied their claim and I owe 800 dollars. I call my insurance company to see why it was denied and they said they never a claim for me from that hospital.. ever. I call the hospital again to get a copy of the claim sent and proof that it was denied and they counter with "it is no longer in our hands, it is now with a collections agency". If you can send me a copy of a bill, and the collections agency can, then you would also have a copy of the denied claim because you could not bill me without that.



This place is a joke. Absolutely everyone I know who has ever been to this place says that this is the worst hospital, that they would rather brave an extra hour of driving to go to a different hospital just so they can avoid this one.

We were shocked by the care given to my husband in outpatient recovery in July 2010. I arrived at the outpatient waitng area at 4:30 pm (my husband's abdominal surgery was at 3:15 pm) and the place was empty - no hospital personel to be seen. The nurse answering the phone when I checked in was very curt and told me the surgery finished at 4:15 and someone would bring me back to my husband in about an hour. At about 6 pm a nurse finally came and took me back to my husband. My husband told me there was a lot of pain. He was still hooked up to an IV, heart monitor and his legs were connected to a machine for circulation. The nurse gave him drinks and saltines to try to relieve his dry mouth and my husband complained of nausea. He was unable to sit up because of the nausea. I was told he was given morphine after surgery and an abdominal binder had been put on him. The nurse finally offered him medicine for the nausea about 6:20 pm which he declined and she left the area until 8 pm. I was surprised she never consulted me on his decision, after all he was on morphine. Upon her return about 8 pm she informed me that she would be getting off shift and he would have to be moved to the other side. She gave him the medicine for nausea - finally! I had to run to a nearby pahrmacy to fill his pain Rx before taking him home. Another nurse came into the room complaining about all the blankets that had been used on my husband. The heart monitor and circulation leggings were disconnected and my husband (still lying flat) was wheeled towards the other side. At this time I quickly left thinking I was leaving my husband in good care while I was gone. When I was crossing the hospital lobby I received a call on my cell phone from the nurse who had complained about the blankets told me to leave the Rx at the drive thru and pick it up on the way home. I hurried to the pharmacy and the pharmacist filled the Rx immediately and I was back at the hospital at 8:36 pm. During the time I was gone that same nurse quickly removed all the blankets from my husband while he was still lying flat on his back and put his pants on at his ankles. He had to pull up his pants with no assistance. He does not remember how his shirt got on nor the removal of the IV. I suspect he may have passed out as he had been complaining about feeling dizzy and the nurse said he should get up and move to make it go away. This nurse also went bolistic when my husband asked if the discharge instructions had been reviewed. As I returned to the outpatient surgery area I recieved another call telling me to bring the car to the front to pick up my husband. I thought this was awfully quick as he had not been sitting up when I left. I did get the car and as I was pulling up I saw my husband in a very aggitated and haggarded state - not the calm patient I had left 30 minutes ago. As I approached I noticed my husband trying to vomit. The nurse wheeled him to my car and started opening the door to load him as he was trying to vomit! I jumped out of the car and made her stop. After getting my husband settled back in the wheelchair I went to turn off the car. My husband said the nurse complained about me turning off the car. Her comment to me was that reason for my husband's upset was from going from the air conditioned hospital to the outside! He told me he had asked her to slow down in the lobby because he was going to vomit and she just kept going. After he settled, he got in the car and we headed home. About an hour after getting home he vomited and took off the abdominal binder and finally was relieved of the additional pain caused by the abdominal binder pressing one of his sutures against a lower rib. He remembers the pain and morphine being given after the abdominal binder was applied.

We had our son here in 1993 they were the best ! They cared for my wife with great care.She had a very hard delivery,he,(my son) was breach and by the grace of GOD we prayed an they said we only had a half hour an then they would have to give her a c section! We trusted in GOD an he, (my son) flip around right on time ! They helped her in every part of the delivery from raising her legs to talking her through an reassuring her that everything was going to be fine. They even made sure I was comfortable, giving me coffee,talking to me about her condition and reassuring me she would be fine! Thank You, For all you done: Robert Collett'e
