        Established in 1887, Witt Industries has a long history in the steel waste receptacle manufacturing industry. The company was founded by George Witt, who invented and patented the first corrugated, galvanized ash can and lid in 1899. In addition to waste receptacles, Witt has been galvanizing for the fabricating industry since the early 1920s. Witt Industries operates three plants. Locations include Cincinnati and Muncie and Plymouth, Ind. The company is one of the top 500 women-owned businesses as identified by Working Women magazine.
