I needed a lot of work on my resume. It had been a while since I had updated it. King Career's experts took me through multiple sessions. They were helpful using varying angles to extract information even I had not thought of when looking through my past achievements. The content reflected these enhancements. Next we focused on the layout and after showing me multiple formats, we agreed on one that looked perfect from my perspective. After we finished the layout, we moved on to what I felt was the most agonizing part, that was shortening the overall length of the resume. It is very difficult, for me, to eliminate my own words. However, bouncing this off of a professional makes it a little easier and gives clarification. The final product is far superior to what I originally came in with.

I also want to say that the other aspects of their services were excellent. I enjoyed the interview preparation, since those sessions tied a lot of my resume updates into it.

I recently relocated from the west coast to Charlotte, due to my husband's job transfer. We had a few telephone conversations and I realized I needed their assistance. I engaged their services and we began with telephone sessions on the weekends. I was employed at the time, so that was best for my schedule. My main concern was with finding an employer that suited my criteria in a job and also gave me a sense of growth. King Career's insight and progressive techniques were spot on in filtering this information. We fine tuned that ideal job criteria. Going through these sessions gave me a greater understanding of what I truly wanted in my career and as a by-product I became more aware of my past mistakes when transitioning to a new company. Coupled with some polishing of my resume and cover letter, I began to feel better about myself as a more marketable applicant. My final piece was the extensive interview preparation. This allowed me to easily react in any situation.

I'm actually currently employed, but we were told layoffs were pending. I wanted to be proactive to get ahead of my competition as the inevitable job search began. I thought I would need "some" assistance, but I couldn't believe all the little things that became big things as I quickly realized that I needed a great deal of help in the world of career transition. I had taken some time off due to an illness and had decided to re-enter the job market. I was completing a project for my current employer. I felt lethargic and overwhelmed. This is when I realized that I needed a change.



I found King Career Consultants online and engaged their services after meeting the crew. I was impressed with how fluid the program was and we were able to accelerate the process with some after-hours meetings. Jerry was amazing with his insights and teachings. Based on all of King Career's information and expertise, I landed in my ideal company.



I now feel energized about my future career path.

This is one of the shadiest practices I have seen in quite awhile. Jerry King contacted me on the premise of having a job for me based on a resume he had pulled from an online database. He seemed very intent on getting me into his office to begin the process.



When I arrived, I discovered this is not a recruiting office. This is an office that requires you to pay a fee for them to market you as a candidate. They are using a model from the late 80's early 90's. The big surprise? He wanted me to cut him a check for $4500 before I left that day.



I would also add that the resume he pulled from an online site was incredibly outdated. He could only pull a partial resume because he does not have a paid subscription to search resumes on that site.



I found it incredibly deceitful and unprofessional that I was brought into the office under false pretenses and submitted to a high-pressure sales pitch for services that I did not solicit and do not need. Avoid this ripoff!!

I partnered with King Career Consultants to help guide my career path. I was unsure what direction I wanted in my career up to that point in my life. Even with a Masters degree, I had been working various jobs and never felt directed, accomplished or making the income that I felt I deserved, especially for as hard as I work. I would interview and accept positions just because I thought that turning one down would be rude to the employer. Utilizing King Career Consultants five phase process was extremely helpful! Honestly it was an eye opener to learn that it was my lack of preparedness all along that was keeping me from landing a decent interview, and that in no way did I have to accept an offer if the position did not meet my needs. Now I feel prepared to not only find the right companies to interview with, but tackle any interview and win!

Job hunting has always been a headache for me, because I never knew how to approach companies, but with King Career Consultants giving me a few quick steps on how to improve my technique. I now approach companies with confidence and professionalism.

Your program was very effective. I've tryed other job hunting companies in the past and had no luck, but King Career showed me successful techniques. Thanks to you I have been working with this company for five years. This new career has changed my life in a positive way.

Maybe worth $500 but certainly not $3000. If you judge them by time spent and assume their time is worth $50 / hour I guess technically the program is worth $500. If you judge by results, I cant even value it at $500. I have good advicego to the bookstore and buy the book "what color is your parachute" (job search guide) and "how to make $1000 / minute" (teaches how to negotiate your pay). Those books will give you better training than King does and it cost you $20. Then, utilize Linked In to network yourself. Incredibly, they hardly knew what Linked In was, much less how to use it. Jerry is a nice guy but the King Career program is almost valueless in todays world.

An enormous waste of money and time. Before I started Jerry King promised all kinds of wonderful things. A whole lot of hoopla and grand (three grand actually) claims, and I have nothing to show for it. My suggestion? Ask for a lot of RECENT referrals. When asked for some recent referrals Jerry said - we don't allow prospects to talk to people that are currently in the program. Don’t settle for that answer. Get lots of recent referrals or walk away. There is no doubt in my mind that twenty years ago this place did great things. Unfortunately, it is now not only archaic but a lot of people are throwing hard earned money that they could be using to live on right down the King Career drain. The resume they supplied me was 1985 vintage, the training was merely common sense and the "network" was either imaginary or incredibly cold. An enormous waste of money and time.

If I could afford to do it, I would dedicate my life to making sure nobody ever paid King Career a penny. Just take this advice…if you are considering hiring King Career, insist on getting the names and phone numbers of at least 10 satisfied clients that have gone through the program IN THE LAST YEAR. I should have had my head examined…before I paid I asked for references. They gave me 3…two never returned my call and the third said he had been through like 8 years ago. I hope you read this before it’s too late. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Outstanding preparation for job search. They taught me fantastic interviewing skills. They trained me so well on the interviewing I had three interviews in ten days and got job offers from two of the three.



Their network and network training helped me a great deal too. I provided them a list of 18 companies in my industry and they had contacts in 13 of them. I contacted 9 of the 13 and they pointed me in the right direction. The 3 interviews came from the 9 people I contacted.



Oh, another thing that was very helpful was the initial position profiling. Jerry helped me identify that I did not like stuffy organizations and that I preferred a more casual environment. He guided me away from a few companies that he feered I would not be happy working for.



Their system is fantastic. If you work it the way they train you it cuts SIGNIFICANT time off your job search. And as anyone who is unemployed will tell you...every day you go unemployed costs you money. I am guessing they cut 2-3 months off my job search (saved me roughly 12-18K).



Very highly recommend.

Working with King Career was the smartest way for me to become successful in my search. You helped me learn how to learn to sell myself and it paid off. My new analyst position is only 3 months old, but it is a very rewarding experience.

I was referred to King by a friend. My position ( CFO for a mid-sized chemical development corp ) was downsized after a merger. Before hiring King I had spent 8 months searching on my own for a position with virtually no fruit.



I went in for an initial consultation and was treated with complete respect and professionalism. I was amazed at the completely honest, open book approach of the consultant. He never tried to "sell" me anything. He laid out all of his research and mapped out a gameplan to finding me a suitable position.



Once I hired them, they did an analysis of my wants, needs, training and accomplishments and came up with a profile of the ideal job for me. They then drafted a very dynamic resume and performed extensive training on networking, interviewing and negotiating. I always thought I was a pretty sharp guy. I had no idea there was such a vast difference between serviceable and fantastic networking and interviewing. I really learned a ton here.



Once the training was over we set to exploiting their network of leads. I was blown away by how much they increased my network. I was getting 5 - 10 times the amount of exposure I was getting on my own. I really had so much more depth to my search with their assistance.



The proof was in the pudding. I landed a VP Finance position just 2 months after hiring King. Whereas on my own I had gone 8 months with no really good offers. My new position pays about 5% less than my previous job, but the opportunity for advancement is much greater.
