Fillings
Resin Composite
Dental fillings are used to fill cavities and repair cracked or broken teeth. Fillings can be done with gold, porcelain, or silver amalgam, but is most commonly done with materials called composite resin fillings that are designed to match the color of your teeth.
Veneers
Veneers are thin shells intended to cover the front side of teeth to hide stains, chips, decay, or irregularities. A dental technician uses a model created by a dentist to make a custom shell out of special materials.

Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
When infection damages the pulp of the tooth your dentist or an endodontist may have to perform root canal therapy to save your tooth.

Deep Cleaning
Initially, deep cleaning will be performed both above and below the gum line to clear the teeth and roots of calculus (tartar). The grafting procedure itself will generally be performed under local anesthetic, but this will depend on the size of the areas receiving grafts. A small incision will be made at the recipient site in order to create a small pocket. A split thickness incision is made in this pocket and the donor tissue is placed between the two sections of this area. The donor tissue strip is generally larger than the incision, so some excess will be apparent.

Dentures
Bridges can solve the issue of missing teeth. Similar to dentures, bridges replace gaps in your smile with artificial teeth. Bridges can be made from a variety of materials including porcelain, gold, and alloys.

Dental Implants
Cone-beam computed tomography systems are radiographic systems used by dental professionals to analyze and reconstruct 3D images of a patient’s teeth, jaws and surrounding anatomy. The information obtained by means of CBCT imaging is useful in both diagnosis and precise treatment planning when two-dimensional diagnostic films are insufficient. Dental CBCT is useful for multiple types of analyses as well as the assessment of maxillofacial disorders or pathology. It is also most useful in surgical planning, including the accurate placement of dental implants.

Gum Surgery
Plastic gum surgery with PRF. The procedure may encourage patients who require gum recession treatment for the recession of gums to undergo treatment as they learn that their gum recession can be corrected without the need for traditional gum grafting surgery.
Tooth Extractions
Platelet-rich fibrin has been used successfully for years in the medical field, in specialties such as orthopedics, cardiology, and plastic surgery. Now, PRF is used in the dental field as well. At Arboretum Dentistry, we use PRF to promote the body’s own natural healing processes, reduce the risk of infection, and expedite faster recovery. It is often used during procedures such as gum surgery, tooth extractions, or dental implant placement. It is especially useful for those with medical conditions that hinder healing due to reduced blood flow, such as diabetes.
Bone Grafting

Braces
It’s safe: Air-Flow therapy is gentle on the enamel of natural teeth, gum tissue and any restorative materials, so it won’t cause damage to any surface. Air-Flow therapy is great for patient with braces or orthodontic hardware and is safe to use on children.

Options for teeth whitening usually include whitening toothpastes, at-home bleaching, and in-office bleaching. Of course effectiveness, safety, and results vary greatly between products, so consult with your dentist if you are considering these choices.

Dr. Joubert earned his bachelor’s in Biology at State University of New York (SUNY) and attended dental school at SUNY, Stony Brook before completing a residency in general dentistry at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center in 1986. He practiced privately in Manhattan for 15 years. In 2004, Dr. Joubert moved to the Charlotte area and went on to obtain his North Carolina dental license shortly after.
