        Only if you are in trouble

        If you have a few tickets or accidents, you don't have options for auto insurance and you will probably need a broker. Shop around and ask a lot of questions. Especially if you own a home or have assets, be sure you have the right protection. You don't want to find out that you have garbage for coverage after an accident. You really get what you pay for and if you are a bad driver (and you know who you are) then you are stuck with going with less than topnotch companies like State Farm.
