First time going into this establishment was not greeted or asked if I needed any assistance. Another couple walked in of a different ethnic group greeted and asked if they needed help. I know I will never step foot in that place again.
I Have known this Family for more than 10 years and have never known them to be unfair to anyone. They may seem hard nosed to some, but people have to understand its the Pawnbroker Business. Your item isn't worth what you paid for it after you have it in your home. It's value drops from usage, and age. If your looking for something that appreciates in value invest in precious Metals, Gold, Silver, Diamonds. Old Coins, but everyday items just decrease in value so don't get offended when they offer you way less than you paid for it New. Be prepared to either take the offer or say "Thank You" but No Thanks! Treating with Respect gets you a long Ways the next time you come in say in an Emergency! Much Love Always. Many Blessings! God Bless. Keeping It Real @ "CEDAR HILL PAWN"
I have to agree with another reviewer...the people in here are so rude! You get the feeling you've somehow interrupted their days. Rather than be glad they've got a potential customer, when you walk in they stare you down and wait for you to speak before they even say hello. They also watched me carry something very heavy in (there were 2 men and 3 women behind the counter) and never even offered to help...only to tell me I couldn't pawn it and then watching me struggle to get it back to my car. When I asked why, they very snottily told me that nobody would buy it. (Just for arguements sake, I'll tell you it was a very expensive Kitchen Aid mixer). They said "how many people actually OWN one of those". I said "I bought it." They just stared. I returned back with another item from my home, and they took it. An XBox 360 with hard drive. They gave me a really hard time about taking it. I should have just told them never mind then. A few days later, when my husband took the ticket to go retrieve his XBox, he said (without my prompting) "they are so rude!". I will never be going there again. If I need quick cash, at least my grandmother is nicer. Oh, and just to comment on the other reviewers statements about race/color...my husband is latino and I am white. The black guy who came in while I was there received the same abuse. So I don't think these people are prejudiced against any certain race...they're prejudiced against CUSTOMERS!
