Dental Examination
We spend time listening to our patients’ concerns and complaints. We do a very thorough comprehensive exam. It is our philosophy to teach our patients about their dental health in hopes to prevent dental disease, but when treatment becomes necessary, we spend the time to explain the procedures thoroughly and discuss insurance and payment options. The patient can then make an educated decision about their treatment.
X-rays

Teeth Cleaning
If your child is a toddler and closer to 2 or 3 years old their visit will include all of the above, as well as a more in depth exam of their teeth and gums, and dental cleaning. Some children are great and cooperate for these procedures, for others it may take 2-3 times, which is ok because they end up loving us and having a great time, with no lifelong fear attached. Our goal at Parker River Dental is for all of our patients to have a positive and enjoyable experience.

1. See a dentist regularly (every 6 months starting no later than age 3) and following dental recommendation for Sealants and X-rays.

Complete dentures are used when all your natural teeth are missing; partial dentures are used when some healthy natural teeth remain. When possible, it is always best to save and use your natural teeth.

This past Friday our office had a Lunch and Learn with our girl Heather from Waterpik. Many of our patients had been asking us about the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion toothbrush and I wanted to provide them with the proper recommendations about this product. The Sonic-Fusion technology is spectacular and is great for those who struggle with good homecare, as well as those with braces, implants, crowns, and bridges. This product removes plaque and bacteria above and below the gumline with the combined power of water flossing and brushing at the same time.

Braces
I strongly recommend that everyone who participates in contact sports, as well as noncontact sports (such as gymnastics, weight lifting, skateboarding, skating, and mountain biking) wear one, even if it is not mandated by the league or club. If you have braces, or any type of permanent dental restorations I encourage you to protect those investments with a mouthguard. If you lift heavy weights I recommend protecting your teeth with a guard, as you clench down hard while lifting and over time that can cause trauma to your teeth. I know guards can be bulky and uncomfortable sometimes but itâ€™s worth it to help protect your smile.
