Los Toros Mexican Restaurant

My husband and I took our son out for a birthday dinner. He ordered enchiladas trio with red sauce. We eat out at Mexican restaurants all of the time. My son always orders enchiladas with red sauce. He has never had an issue. Then last night he looked at me and I saw the panic on his face and immediately I grabbed him, ran outside, and called an ambulance. My husband had gone to find our missing server to ask if there was peanuts in the meal. He informed him that there were peanuts in the sauce. It was described as red sauce not mole which is the sauce that is made with peanuts. I went back the next day to speak with the owner. He was not there. The manager told me that he was part owner. So I explained to him what happened and told him there was an issue with their menu, that it should state its mole not "red sauce" as the menu states. I told him I have never heard of red sauce with peanuts in my life. It's basically tomato sauce. He went on to argue with me and tell me that it's mole and that they just put red sauce on the menu because us white people wouldn't understand what mole meant. What?! I was furious. I asked for the contact information of the other co-owners but was denied. I the. Told him that I think that they should pay for his medical bills and he said we cannot just pay money for something like that. I told him he better discuss it with his co-owners and get back to me or I will contact me attorney regarding the issue. He never apologized or offer to refund the $60 that they made my husband pay for the dinners that we never even got to eat! Unbelievable!! The worst customer service I have ever encountered and the most irresponsible business owners I have ever seen!

Really like this place. Has the best salsa. Always clean and the staff is friendly.

Typical Mexican restaurant. Service decent. Never saw any bugs personally, but hesitant to go back now.

After waiting what seemed an ungodly amount of time for our food, it finally arrived. A few bites into my burrito I just missed chomping into a bug. A real bug. I tried unsucessfully to call the server over to tell him. He only came back around to give us the check ( never refilled our drinks ). I explained to him that I was not happy about having to pay as I didn't eat the food as there was a bug in it. He wanted to see the bug. I showed him the bug in my burrito. He picked it out, shrugged his shoulders and said " all good". Obviously, all was NOT good. I complained to the man at the counter where we were to pay. He said there was nothing he could do about it, I had to pay. No apologies, nothing. Their solution was to pick the bug out of my food with nasty fingers, have me choke it down with nothing to drink, AND pay for the entire awful dining experience! Next stop, Board of Health. Will never go back!
