A very knowledgeable doctor

Has been this doctor's patient for five years. I would highly recommend that doctor as a primary care physician and an endocrinologist. Very attentive, sharp doctor. Nice office inside, nice and caring staff. wait time sometimes may be long though as the doctor is very popular.

Very good doctor

Dr. Starosta really took the time to listen patients and explain everything quite well, and did not rush to prescribe unnecessary medication.Someone I can trust to be my regular endocrinologist. Friendly office staff.

knowledgeable specialist

I came to the doctor for a consult regarding my thyroid problems. The doctor was very helpful, listened to me, responded to all my questions and immediately sent me for a blood test and a sonogram. both were done in the office during my visit. now have to wait for the results. hope for the good ones.

I am very satisfied with my visit to this doctor. The doctor is very knowledgeable, has a lot of experience. He is very kind and sympathetic. You can draw a blood on the same premises on the same day of your visit . I got the blood results back the next day with the doctor's comments on them. The doctor referred me for a renal sonogram which was done very conveniently at the office on the same day. The results came back in 5 days, which is also unbelievably fast. The only thing that I have to mention is that the doctor is very popular and I had to wait for 40 minutes to see the doctor.

Wow. This is the most unethical doctor's office I have ever been to - they repeatedly billed me for medical care I didn't receive. In all my years of getting refills from various doctors, no one has ever billed me $200 for "medical care" for calling them to phone in a refill to my pharmacy. And this is the second time they've billed me for care I didn't receive so I know it's not a fluke - read on if you're interested.

I first went to Dr. Starosta for routine bloodwork and checkup, as needed for a thyroid condition I've had for 12 years. I just need someone to check my blood levels, adjust dosage and write a refill prescription. He is the first doctor I’ve seen in my 12 years of regular visits that recommended an ultrasound “just in case” - I was surprised, but figured maybe he was just a thorough and attentive doctor and went for the test, which he said would only cost $80 dollars anyway.

His technician did the test the following week. She did an ultrasound on my thyroid like she was supposed to, then went on to scan my stomach. I asked her why she was scanning my stomach when my thyroid gland was in my neck!? She said she didn't know, it was on her paperwork to do so. On my way out of the door, I remind the front desk staff that I still haven't received my refill. The front desk staff was about to write it but then ran back to check that Dr. Starosta was in his office and sent me back to see him. I told him I just needed my refill. He rambled on for 10 minutes while I patiently waited for him to write the prescription. I got my refill slip and left.

Then I received a bill for hundreds of dollars for three separate things on that day. One for the test I was supposed to have done, one for that totally separate test on my stomach I wasn’t told I’d be having done, and another for visiting the doctor. I called them to complain about being charged for a doctor's visit when I was spontaneously ushered in his door on the way out so I could get the refill that he was supposed to phone in to my pharmacy - they dropped it immediately without explanation or surprise. My insurance paid the other charges. But that's twice now this clinic charged me for nonsense "medical care". I've seen a lot of doctors in my life and no doctor's office has ever done anything like this.

slllllloooooooowwwwww goood

Hey ive been going to doctor Starosta for years. i actually started seeing him after i left my pediatrician. so i am kinda use to him but he takes forever. I know he's an amazing doctor he explains everything perfectly runs test all the time to make sure your ok and just chit chats with you about anything. .the thing is he does this with every one of his patients which is good but bad for the next person waiting. one day i waited a whole three hours for him to see two patients before me,my father was right next to me and boy was he in pain and cranky from sitting on the chairs. i brought everyone i knew to Dr.Starosta my bf,ex-bf,friends,neighbors you name it. then eventually i moved outta brooklyn where hes located and moved to queens and started seeing another doctor.I didnt know you werent suppose to wait long periods of time to see your doctor. i was so use to waiting that i never complained. When i first saw my new doctor i waited about 10 minutes because it was my first day and i needed to fill out papers but then the second time i saw her i waited even less than that! if you make an appointment for a certain time she shes you exactly at that time. Not like Dr.Starosta you make an appointment for a certain time and 2-3 hours later he sees you. its kinda like waiting in an emergency room. i love both doctors for who they are but if i had to pick from one i would pick the doctor i have now.
