Overall
Everything with CNYE started...

Everything with CNYE started off marvelous. Sure enough, the movers showed up on time and were very courteous and they were able to put our stuff in their storage for 30 days FREE which was a great service and we needed it since we were moving to NY/NJ and needed to find a place. Moving on to late August…We found a place to live in New Jersey and by September 2nd, 2011, I called up the customer service department at CNYE and told them I would like them to release our stuff from storage. The earliest we could receive our stuff was September 10th because that was when we were moving in. CNYE calls this the “Earliest Date of Arrival (EDA).” We had been told and even the paperwork states that one should expect to receive their things in approximately 7-10 days from shipment. We moved in more than a week after giving notice and nothing.
Finally, on Friday September 16th, 2011 I spoke with a customer service representative. He was very nice and he said that it was supposed to be shipping out that day (Friday the 16th). As you can imagine, my wife and I were jumping for joy and awaited emails throughout the weekend, though nothing ever came…First thing Monday morning (September 19th) I was on the phone calling customer service again The young lady from customer service assured me that our stuff had been shipped and just told me to wait till the afternoon to receive an update because the dispatcher does not send updates throughout the weekend; he will normally send them out after 12noon PST. So again, we were patient.

I called back on Monday, September 20th and finally after an hour and half got in contact with customer service. I told the girl (who was very rude) the situation and she explained that the dispatchers and coordinators have the right to pick and choose which shipments leave their facilities based on “Earliest date of arrivals” and stuff that can fit into their trucks. And that their policy states that they have 14 days from that EDA that is given to them to deliver. The fact of the matter was that I had already been told by TWO (not ONE but TWO) representatives that my stuff was on the way. I asked to speak with the manager and the girl says “He is just going to tell you what I just said.” She said “Okay, I will have someone call you.” Sure enough, no one ever called. So I called them back within 30 minutes and asked to speak with the manager again.

**THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET INTERESTING**

I believe he said his name was Alil? I asked him what kind of a manager he was/what department? He said he was the Operations Manager. I said “perfect, you are the person I want to speak with.” I started explaining the story and he kept trying to tell me about their policies and procedures, blah, blah, blah…I said I knew the contract, policies etc. I have read them and I understood them quite well. He continued trying to talk over me and would not hear me out. I continued emphasizing the situation where I have THEIR representatives telling me that my stuff was on the way only to find out five days later that my stuff is still sitting in their warehouse.

Alil was literally fighting me over the phone. Saying stuff like “are we late? Are we late? Because the policy says x, y, z…And if your stuff is not there 14 days after the EDA then we are late and then you can make your point.” He and all of CNYE are a JOKE! So I asked him if he was really the Operations Manager because if so, the owner had really made a huge mistake.
Instead, he continued reiterating the policies and completely ignoring everything that I had told him had occurred with his representatives, saying that my stuff was on the way etc. He did not care to listen and obviously had no intention of helping.

Just got our stuff – October 4th, 9 days late and over a month after we said to release our stuff from storage. Niiice work CNYE!
