Founded in 1938, Bronx High School of Science is a public school that offers a range of academic programs and extracurricular activities. It offers advanced placement classes in English, social studies, mathematics, biology, physical sciences and foreign language. The school provides honors classes in various science subjects that include microbiology, physiology, human genetics, physical sciences and chemistry. Bronx High School of Science s curriculum also include classes in engineering, architectural drawing, telescope making, and computer graphics and application. The music department of the school provides classes in stage band, concert band, orchestra, chorus and small ensemble.
