Crystal Palms

Crystal Palms Apartments is located at Palmetto and Powerline. Granted that the apartment complex is within walking distance of Windixie, CVS, a few banking centers and McDonalds. The area that it is located it, you would think that it is a good area, but it is not. We have never had a homeless man come knocking at our door, but every evening if you drive by, you will see at least 1-4 homeless men standing on the corner of Palmetto & Powerline. And at this point you would say to yourself, “Gee I thought that this was a good neighborhood?” Well, not really.



The actual persons that run the complex have no idea how to run a complex. They have changed hands at least two times since our staying there. In the beginning of our rental agreement, we were promised that the apartment would have new flooring in the kitchen, never happened, new painted walls, never happened, new flooring in both bathrooms, never happened.



During our stay we had to have the air conditioner completely replaced. It had leaked on the flooring about 6 times all over the carpet. Nice to know that all they had wanted to do was just to continue to use the decompresser just to blow out the water in the line. We have had to have our water heater replaced, toilets about 5 times, refrigerator, and pipes under the sink. We were only there for 4 years.



Crystal Palms Apartments is not worth your stay. Granted it might cost you more to move to a different location, but please before you decide to sign a rental agreement with Crystal Palms, please be advised to look around the neighborhood. Ask them what their response time is on appliances that need to be repaired. And always ask them for new appliances before you move in for the contract to go through. Make sure that you don’t catch them painting the refrigerator when you walk in like I did. And make sure you know what kind of increase you can expect each year for a new rental agreement. Ours went up approximately $200-400 each year. For their space, you can get a furnished 3bedroom house for what they are charging. Look around. Check Cragslist to see what you can find.



Not to mention when we moved in, there were rats and flies all around the house. We had to exterminate ourselves.
