Fortis Institute-Birmingham

I am the Program Director for the MLT Program. I love working at Fortis, Birmingham. Everyone is like a "family" here, which is our President's motto. The President and Dean are leaders in their field, and really care about the students. They make the college run efficiently and effectively. As far as the MLT program, we have quality instructors, several have a Master's degree, we are seasoned in the clinical lab and know all of the areas very well. We love our students, and make every effort for them to succeed in their exciting new careers!! A great place to receive a quality education, and a wonderful place to work!! Great!!

I can honestly say that this school has change my life. The teachers have years of experience in their field of study, and will help you when you need it.

The most Important thing that i want people to know about this school was.....That the teachers and staff at Fortis are great! I don"t just say it just to say it, but they really put there time in teaching the students and helping you llearn your trade.They are not just there doing there job in teaching but are a great help when out of schooltoo.They are always willing to give you a hand and help you in any jobs or help u need. It starts from the president from the school to all staff working, they constantly keep on motavating us and pushing us to stride for success.and change in our lifes. Great staff great school we become one the fortis family!!!

I chose FORTIS because I was needing a change. I was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 4 years. I wanted to become more experience in the nursing field. I came to Fortis to become a Certified Medical Assistant. The cousre was 9 months long and I now have a job in my field. The instructors are great and they teach you the things that you need to know. I learned a lot at Fortis. It was the best decision that I have ever made. I will be coming back to pursue in my career.

The Instructor at FORTIS who encourage me the most was Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith changed my life because he was hard, stern, honest, and wasn't a yes man. I appreciate his style of teaching because it taught me discipline and being punctual really helped me out alot in the field. So to anybody thinking on a trade this is the place to come.

The most important thing that I want people to know about this school is that if you have a goal to reach in mind, Fortis Institute will help you reach that goal. I came to Fortis with a goal of achieving an Associates Degree in Health Information Technology to become a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. Not only did I achieve the goal of graduating, but I also obtained several certifications.

Set your goal, share your goal with the people and staff at Fortis Institute and they will guide you and help you achieve your goal. They are concerned because your success is success for Fortis Institute and they are very proud of each achievement!

The most important thing that I want people to know about this school is that the faculty and staff is awesome! they give you words of encouragement when you feel like you want to give up , one of Fortis goals is to help all of there graduates find jobs. Fortis has accomplish that goal ,If you are tired of dead end jobs Fortis is the place to come they show you that they care about you and your future .The Career Service work so hard for the graduates here not all Institute go beyond like they do so Thank you so much Fortis for all of your hard work.

I really love fortis institute because , my teachers really take time to make sure i understand the work thats assignged to me and if im ever unsure of anything i can always ask for help ,because my teachers allways make time for me but there is one teacher the i enjoy the most , Her name is ms SHARON PETTY because she allways motivate you to strive for the best and there is no limit to my success it all depemd on me and

At first I was skeptical that Fortis would really help me find a job in my field of study, but that concern was soon put to rest. My instructors were there to assist me every step of the way. They even offered tutoring to those who needed it for free.

The further I got in my studies, the more confident I became that I would be successful. Not only was there free tutoring, the instructors were willing to help me after hours. Once I graduated, the Career Services worked dilignetly to make sure I was placed in a position that was great for me. Thank you Fortis Institute!

My experience with the staff and faculty on campus has been fantastic. The family-like atmosphere makes me feel welcome and part of the institution. Once I enter the building, I always see smiling faces and overall happy people who are willing to help me with any problem I have. The dental hygiene and assisting program have a huge facility with more than 10 patient chairs in the clinic. I have never seen a dentist office as big as the one on our campus. I know they have at least one Dentist on staff with multiple highly qualified educators ensuring top quality dental care. Most students on campus are in the allied health feild such as medical assisting or medical billing and coding. It's easy to tell what program a student is in because of the color scrubs they wear. This facilitates upper class mentoring to newer students. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to seek a career in the medical feild.
