I had a terrible experience!!! I couldn't believe what happened actually happened. If I were smart enough to video record it, I could have sued.

On my 9 year olds first visit, one of the nurses/assistants came to greet us. They were quick and friendly and we love the look and feel of the office. We were impressed with all the up to date technology. I was feeling great and so proud of my son, who is always great with blood tests. Unfortunately, this office uses finger pricks instead of needles. This was my sons first time giving blood in this manner. He was calm, but surprised by the way it hurt ( I wouldn't have liked it either -- the fingers are a very sensitive area.) He started to cry and instead of asking him if he was okay she overpowered, which seemed to go on and on. It was as if my son was an animal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No communication, pure physical force. I grabbed her off him and said stop that's too rough when Mrs. Schwartz Cohen walked in. She didn't seem curious or alarm. It was as if everything were normal. She just started asking me questions, while I was trying to comfort my son and stop him from crying. I still can't believe it happened! I can not speak about all the doctors in this office, but I can surely tell you that something is very wrong here. I explained to my son how wrong the nurse was. Such a horrifying experience. I love children so much and to all the mothers out there --please if you get a nurse with black hair and glasses --please take out your video camera.

I am a first time mother and have been going to Bellmore Pediatrics AKA Dr. Jassey for 3 months. I have never met Dr. Jassey, but have been seen by an array of other doctors and PA's in the office. My initial impression was not bad and I figured I would have to meet different doctors to find the one best for me and my daughter. The first, Dr. Bahari, she seemed friendly, but I felt as if she was in a rush to leave the office and lacked something I was looking for. This led to Dr. Nathan, who again first impression was decent, but my second meeting with her she can come across rude/fake. Be careful how many questions you ask because she seem to get frustrated from having to answer all of them. She gets in does her job and that is all, bed side manners is important when working with infants (even if it's for the parents). Maybe my expectations are higher than they should be, but again as a first time mother I would hope for a little more compassion and time for explanation, Could this be considered coddling, absolutely, and there is nothing wrong with that your first time around. The only one that seemed genuine was a PA I met, but then again it seems they are all this way on the first appointment.

But even if I did find a doctor that I liked it would not erase the encounter with the RUDEST old lady I have come across. She does not lift her head to greet you, she does not say bye. She wants your co-pay and to be done. This is a Pediatric office where are your manners???? Needless to say we are in search of a new pediatrician, one who may want to actually get to know my daughter and when the time comes show concern about a cold or question.

I have been seeing Dr. Jassey for 6 years now and would NEVER switch to another practice. I have since moved from long island to CT and continue to bring my kids here. They ALWAYS find time to squeeze me in (even to see Dr. Jassey) and have never had me come back for repeat visits. They are always willing to investigate why my children are sick and they think outside the box when it comes to a diagnosis. And they have called in many prescriptions for me without a problem. Although the staff of doctors and PA's have increase since we've started going here- they've increased with amazing medical professionals that have the same caring and compassion as Dr. Jassey himself. I'd give them 10 stars if it was possible!!!

I don't know who this reviewer...

I don't know who this reviewer is, or why they had such a bad experience. I have been going to this office for about 8 years now, for both of my sons. In fact, Dr. Jonathan Jassey was my youngest sons doctor from the very day my son was born. I have never been nickle & dimed as this reviewer states, and have always found the workers friendly, even if somewhat businesslike at times.

They have:

> never once refused to call in a prescription

> have returned calls made in the middle of the night in a timely manner

> squeezed in appointments for me the same day I called

> never performed excessive testing, as far as I can tell

> always accepted my health insurance

> gave me a discount on the price of an office visit, at a time when they knew I was uninsured [how many doctors will cut their price for patients?]

> etc.

Yes, it is true that my children rarely get to see Dr. Jonathan himself, but it has been my experience, over the course of about 8 years, that any person we have dealt with, whether doctor or PA, has done a good job. in fact, my 3 y.o. just recently had to undergo a series of vaccinations, & needed blood drawn for testing as well. They were very gentle, and my little one didn't cry, even though he was stuck about 4 times. The nurse even used a "cold spray", something to help numb the area where an injection is to be received.

The only downside is, as stated above, you may have a wait at times, but that is par for the course with any doctors office. Does anyone really expect to see a doctor at the appointed time?

So, to conclude, I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Bellmore Merrick Pediatrics, and any doctor you would happen to see.

Be wise....when it comes to your children.

At first, Dr. Jassey and his staff seemed pleasant and genuinely concerned about my children. After getting you in and convincing you that he will care for your child, you will be thrown from PA to doctor to PA whenever they can fit you in. You will never get Dr. Jassey again. And if you do, you will have to wait over one hour to see him.

****also, very concerning is the MULTIPLE exams that office will put your child through, at by the time you leave a $15.00 co pay will now be a minimum of $60.00. they will swab your childs nose, swab the throat, draw blood, then tell you it's probably viral, NEVER prescribe a medication. Tell you to come back in two days for a follow up visit, where you will be charged again....

If your child condition worsens or does not get better the next day, rest assure you will be back in the office paying for co-pays!

Don't forget to bring your bank account with you when you arrive at this office! Dr. Jassey's mother is the receptionist, and she is very rude, disrespectful and believes she can diagnose your child!

Don't expect them to call in a medication for you. That would mean they will lose money.....that they can't afford to lose.

The better doctors are gone, as the Physican Assistant's and Doctors do not stay long. That means your child is back on the assembly line.

My children no longer go to this office. Sorry, but their office started out nice, ended miserably.
