Medical Weight Loss
When we moved to the PNW 4 years ago I started researching fertility clinics to help us conceive our 2nd child. After having our son through IVF in Texas in 2016, we knew we would have to turn to fertility treatments again. Being overweight (a struggle with PCOS), finding a clinic that would help me seemed impossible (some wouldn’t let me even make an appointment until I was under a certain BMI), but ORH was amazing! Their ARNP, Jo, worked closely with me to achieve a weight loss goal and the entire IVF process was as easy as it could possibly be, even during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. I especially liked that they do a trial run on the embryo transfer to better understand your body and the best way to complete this procedure, as the clinic we used in Texas didn’t do this and it took two transfers (and all of our embryos) to get pregnant. At ORH I got pregnant on the first transfer and our sweet little girl, Nellis, is 6 months old today!! Although the clinic was usually busy (there aren’t many options on the area, so this makes sense), I never felt like just a number. Both doctors, Jo and Jamie, and all of the staff always remembered me, asked how our son was doing, etc. I highly recommend ORH to anyone who is struggling with infertility!

Primary Care
ORH does not require a referral, but your insurance company may require that you have one. Check with your insurance plan if you need a referral or if you have to register with them to get fertility coverage. If you are referred by a physician or other health professional, please let us know. It is helpful to request records of your previous testing and treatment so that we can review them. Many of our patients are referred by friends, coworkers or family members, including former patients of ours who have been successful.
Male Infertility
Overlake Reproductive Health is a private fertility clinic specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of female reproductive disorders as well as male infertility. Our Seattle area fertility clinic is staffed by board-certified practitioners who specialize in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Gynecology
We have been around longer than most other fertility clinics in this region. Dr. Johnson joined Seattle Fertility and Gynecology in 1991, then the largest fertility clinic in the Pacific Northwest. A further consolidation with another Seattle-based fertility clinic in 1995 created the largest specialty fertility and gynecology clinic in the area. The pitfalls of a “bigger is better” mentality soon became all too obvious and in 1997 Dr. Johnson moved to the Eastside, with the goal to create a personalized, boutique-style fertility center, emphasizing individualized care with an informed and consistent care team. Female Infertility
Obstetrics
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility or REI MDs are sub-specialists: we train in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/Gyn) then do advanced study of male & female hormonal conditions (endocrinology) and infertility testing and treatment including IVF. REI should be board-certified, except for a few older docs. Ob/Gyn MDs offer prenatal care, delivery, gynecologic care & surgery. Fertility specialists can help you get pregnant, including women with recurrent miscarriage, and look after you in early pregnancy, before transferring your care to an Ob/Gyn when you’re ready to graduate from our program!
Endometriosis
You may consult a fertility physician (Reproductive Endocrinologist or REI) any time if you have difficulty conceiving. You can try for up to a year if you are 34 or under, or for up to 6 months if you are 35-39. See a REI right away if you are 40 or over, if you have irregular cycles, if you have had a previous ectopic pregnancy, chlamydia or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, if you have had endometriosis or ovarian surgery, or if your partner has known sperm issues.
