The Avondale Fire Department is governed by the City of Avondale in Arizona. The department provides fire suppression, prevention and rescue services. It offers medical emergency medical and community education services. The Avondale Fire Department provides homeland security services, as well as maintains a community services division. The department offers several intervention services, such as emergency response, fire suppression and wildlife firefighting. It also provides training in the areas of drowning, homicides, domestic violence, grief counseling, death notification and sexual abuse. Established in 1947, the Avondale Fire Department oversees physical resources and community relations divisions, as well as maintains a fleet of several engines.
